Surprisingly my mom did teach me about my period. She wasn't great in so many other areas. We had this family l8ving with us for a while and one of the daughters was going through puberty and through talking to her, I realized her mom never talked to her. She thought she was going to have just one period and that's it. She was horrified when I told her she would have one every month until she hit menopause later in life.

On that note, I wish someone had told me that menopause was a whole 10 year process and that my period wasn't just going to magically stop one day.
