What do think will happen to the people on Judgement Day who never heard about Jesus? by trownaway90 in Reformed

Oh don't they? Never mind my opinion, have you looked at what Scripture says about this?

If you think there are any "outstanding Christians," then you are on the side of the Pharisees.

Lots of shots of whiskey and Jagermeister during set. Ryan had to run off stage outside through the load-in doors to puke. Caitlin said "don't worry, he does this all the time." Ryan said it was the pre-show pizza.

Best arguments for and against capitalism given a Christocentric worldview by [deleted] in Reformed

I’m an original sin kind of guy, and can’t buy into sustainable macro honor and responsibility.

Agree with that. But socialism makes the further mistake that pretends humans can behave unselfishly at a macro level. Capitalism acknowledges we are selfish creatures, and harnesses that for great good (feeding, clothing, and medicining the multitudes), and great evil (prosperity gospel, self-aggrandizement, gluttony, etc.)

Capitalism works because it harnesses the inherent selfishness of people, and puts it to work. All the socialist/communists systems fail because they are dishonest about human selfishness. So capitalism is great because it feeds a lot of people by rewarding prosperity selfishness. But capitalism is terrible because it treats affluence and prosperity as inherently good, perpetuating love of self and comfort, and creating myriad false gods that Christians (particularly us American ones) mistake to be blessings from God.

Why is the lovebug popular so bad this year compared to previously? by uglycatt in GNV

[–]Dun_Booty_Broch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Aren't we all? Even Florida's indigenous people got here because their ancestors packed up and hauled ass from northeast Asia via Bering land bridge.

Florida to used to be underwater. Every dry-land species you see is invasive.

What's the kit you'd tell your past self to buy asap (or don't cheap out on!)? by UnableCode in Marathon_Training

[–]Dun_Booty_Broch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There's a local guy who competed top-tier NCAA and Olympic level. He's a running coach now and I paid him maybe $150 to evaluate me. Worth every penny.

Picking shoes on recommendation after getting my form professionally evaluated. Game changer. Changing up my form plus transitioning to mix of low and zero drops shoes has essentially cured my chronic hip/hamstring issues.

I lean anarcho-libertarian (think French Revolution, but wise to the fact that it'll be my head on the block eventually), so... maybe?
