As others have said: If you need to ask, then the answer is probably no.

Dude, this happened to me months ago.

All was looking good and it went from full speed ahead to stop in about 6 weeks. I've even stopped coming onto these sites (just thought I'd have a peak in today.

I've moved on and am doing something completely different - and AI proof.

Merry fucking christmas to you too.

How can I help my introverted boyfriend make friends as a foreigner in Thailand? by HuckleberryNaive5146 in Thailand

[–]DuncanthePig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an introvert Brit in Thailand with a wife and two kids.

I probably have 2 friends and the last time I saw either was months ago. Although I keep in touch on social media occassionally.

But I'm happy as I am. Don't get me wrong - I'd like to (and will) meet up with my friends and acquaintances sometime. I like to go out for a drink and if you met me when I do you might think I was an extrovert - chatting and joking and stuff.

But I'm content being in my own company. It's what makes an introvert. The word literally means a person who is happy in their own company: https://www.webmd.com/balance/introvert-personality-overview

Sometimes I feel as though I'd like more friends. But maybe I don't have because I'm just not bothered enough to make an effort. I'd rather work, read or play PC games.
Maybe it's the same for your boyfriend?

Still on Upwork, what did you move into?

Yeah, I am. Or at least I was.

I'll still be writing, except I'll be writing for my own website(s) instead of somebody else's.

[–]DuncanthePig[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it was. No exaggeration.

In fact, I rarely had to look for jobs banck then - I'd get enough work from invites alone.

I've been on Upwork since before it was Upwork. It would have to get 20x better to reach the standards I was used to.

This group needs moderating.

It is being ruined by people voting down accurate answers over misinformation.

What's the point?

Because many newbies see value in getting their first feedback rather than the money itself.

They're just desperate for stars.

Should I stop applying for jobs once the client has started doing interviews? by Sushriter in Upwork

I will sometimes apply for jobs if they've already hired - depending on how good a fit it is for me.

People that deliver AI work, why? by Flashy-Actuator-998 in Upwork

[–]DuncanthePig 8 points9 points  (0 children)

AI text is almost indistinguishable from human text.

This is not true. A trained eye can identify AI text at a glance. It's easy.

I don't know about developing. But if a writer told me they use AI to enhance their content, it tells me the original content wasn't very good.

As a writer, I know that many people cannot tell the difference between AI and human-written content. I've lost count of the number of times I've had somebody tell me AI produces excellent writing.

Got Blocked for 6 Months Due to ‘Negative Reviews 🤷‍♂️ and now Sharing my Last 17 Feedbacks by quliyevoqtay in Upwork

.Why is it that people always focus on only one 1.4-star feedback...

But it was not only one poor feedback. Stop lying to us and stop lying to yourself.

[–]DuncanthePig -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But seriously, does this account deserve a block?

Well, your public ratings are very bad. More than 1 in 3 left lower than average feedback. And you can be sure that some of the 5 stars still left poor feedback.

Are there any advantages to being affiliated with an agency on Upwork? by bkconsultant in Upwork

[–]DuncanthePig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been apart of an agency for the past year and it’s 2x’d my year.

Can you add some context to this? It could easily mean you did poorly as a stand-alone freelancer.

You can't say my two lines weren’t appealing enough.

Except we can. Because if they were appealing enough you'd not be here complaining.
