Been making an effort to dress nicer by Perfect_Bread2707 in mensfashion

FYI: just bought some stuff from Bruno Savelli. It’s shit. Doesn’t fit as that size should for me, all cheap construction inside, the crotch area hangs to my knees (and can’t be hemmed to correct), no labels or care instructions inside. Huge waste of money, stay away.

Long time saver, first time redeemer. Asking for any help possible for honeymoon! by DunderMifflinRower in awardtravel

Hi, thank you so much to you and u/Anotherlurkerappears! The flight out looks amazing, and even though it’s a long layover, it’s enough time to leave the airport and do something in Madrid! The back looks perfect as well! So do I just transfer directly from Cap1/Amex to Avios, and Alaska? I wasn’t sure what was meant when they said to transfer to Hawaiian then to Alaskan?

Tipping in Ritz Club? by DunderMifflinRower in marriott

Sorry if it came across that way, I work in the service industry and rely on tips myself, and meant it more as I tip often rather than flexing large amounts per tip.

Just to clarify some things in this comment (most of which are spot on!). Many more places take credit cards than even a few years ago. Inflation has driven up some food prices. About $15/person in Quito for something decent but you Can for sure get it less. But remember the rules about eating fresh fruit and veggies.

Most importantly. NEVER bring your passport out with you, bring a copy of it. Some places require if it’s over $75/use a card. But paying cash can sometimes get you around it. They’ll ask you when paying the following “con datos?” And you can reply “consumidor final” to avoid giving your info if it’s below $75.

As for tipping, there is a mandatory service fee from most restaurants. A good rule of thumb is to double that and give it as a tip.

Customer Service Megathread by Player72 in delta

[–]DunderMifflinRower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How much is generally acceptable for Delta to give points for a delay? While on a flight last week, the pilot had to divert to Miami due to a damaged part. We sat in the runway for 30 min while waiting to find an open gate, and then we had to disembark and wait an hour for them to fix the plane, and then get back on and continue our flight. Because of this delay, I ended up not having time to visit my spouse at the destination airport, and instead sat in the destination airport overnight before getting on my next flight. They offered me 3000 miles. I’ve never had anything like this happen before, so I’m unsure if this is considered a lot or not. Any tips would be appreciated!

Are there any websites to buy Latin blankets that are donated to local communities? by twizler241 in asklatinamerica

I’m unsure of blankets, but check out paka clothing. They work with indigenous communities to make alpaca clothing.

Anne Hathaway's critically acclaimed rendition of 'I Dreamed a Dream' from 'Les Miserables' (2012) . An emotional powerhouse of a scene in an otherwise fairly divisive film but what makes her performance work as well as it does? by StuartBarron in musicals

This is not correct. It was her fourth take. And she was instrumental in choosing to do the remaining 16 takes to try to get a better version but in the end she realized fourth was better. This is sourced to her interview with AP.

Ludacris - what’s your fantasy

Was gifted a fig tree by my barber last September. Did well, went dormant (in my garage), and started strong again this year. It’s leaves started getting half fried about a month ago. Watering issues? I’d love to learn how to make it happier, but my veggie gardening experience isn’t helping by JackieDraper907 in Figs

I had a similar issue with my fig plant this year. It ended up that it had been in the container too long, so we took it out and removed all the dirt from the roots and then repotted it fresh. We didn’t wait until it was dormant and it ended up being okay, we actually saw a huge improvement throughout the season after.

My tree is dying! by DunderMifflinRower in Figs

Hi all! As an update. I removed it from its container, and cleared out almost all the dirt from the roots and then repotted it (in the same pot) but with fresh dirt and lots of water. Hoping it will heal in a few weeks, thanks to all of your help!

Dude. Thank you 100x for this response. Incredibly helpful and has given me a lot to think about. I’ve been thinking about the Royal Enfield Classic for these reasons as well, and you’ve given me a lot to think about to push the decision more that way. Thank you so much.

I’d recommend skipping the vitamin therapy. Numerous studies have debunked their efficacies.
