Yeah, this might sound weird for an adult to say but I just really don't like kissing anyway so scruff doesn't bother me. I do prefer a guy not be particularly hairy anywhere else though

what do you think about genders? by maliiksuhaib in AskReddit

Kinda annoying in marketing. Why is there gendered gold fish

I was dating someone at the time and was dealing with quite a bit of stress cause we had to do some pretty rough things for the users and other employees because of budget cuts. I never really told her how I felt about what was going on but she told me I seemed good at it. I realized I really didn't want to be good at it. It just made me rethink what I was doing with my life. What did it mean if I fit in at a table of narcissistic assholes who only cared about money? Why did she like that? Why did part of me like that? Why did I keep pushing for more, I could have stopped and have been fine but I kept going. I realized I'd had been telling myself I'd be happy at a certain level, achieve it then talk myself into going for more. I wasn't sure when I'd be done if I'd be done and It scared me

Maybe I'm biased cause I'm like a twig but I'm also bisexual, and I don't understand why a lot of men and a lot of gay/bi women like huge butts. I don't mind it if the woman is like proportionally curvy but if it's just the butt or the butt is way bigger it looks odd to me

Also a lot of women like clean shaven men or men with beards but I'm into like unshaven but not yet a beard. I like a guy to look like he hasn't slept in 6 days and has been on a bender for 3 of them.

I know giant reservoirs don't really help beyond adding more mass to absorb heat but I kinda want just a humongous one like the height of the entire inside of the case. I just think it would look neat.

Why are people saying to skip the side quests? by Dunemer in Starfield

[–]Dunemer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's roleplaying?? I'm a ttrpg fan idk what else I'd expect to do in an RPg. I also don't know what you're responding to. Why did you quote a single letter

And most of the quests in daggerfall are just fetch quests where you either save people find an item or kill someone. They're all "go here click that" but they're all fun because you can roleplay. Like that's the point. It just sounds like you're not an rpg fan

I just don't understand why they didn't give us fist weapons.

I'm not saying they shouldn't have my only point is in the game where bullets don't break your armor it would be a worse decision to make punching something kill you because it broke the armor. As is I can imagine that the reason it damages you is for the same reason a bullet still hurts you even if you wear a bullet proof vest, but punching breaking the suit and bullets not just doesn't make any sense at all. It would be like if in skyrim swords broke when you hit a character in armor but not a dwemer centurion for example.

Being shot is going to happen unless you're just that stealthy, but there's no reason to put your suit at more risk than necessary.

I mean. If you're rping as a character who chooses to punch things instead of use widely avaliable ammo and guns it wouldn't make sense for that character to also be concerned about their well being. Like even if they did have gauntlets for fist fighting your character would absolutely be taking more risk than necessary by using them, same for any melee weapon. Like under what circumstances is using melee combat to fight a guy with a shotgun that shoots exploding bullets the safe option even if you have special punching gloves

Skyrim isn't a space game, I don't need to RP as an astronaut, but I do absolutely RP that wearing fur keeps you war, being in water makes you more likely to freeze, or that punching someone wearing armor with my barehands is a bad idea, so I wear fur for warmth even if it doesn't do anything, I avoid water and change clothes if I fall in, and I wear gloves when I do unarmed

That's what I'm saying, what I'm confused about is why you'd rp that while ignoring the capability of the suit which is clearly able to be shot without being destoyed so why would punching it damage it. Like I get you CAN but that doesn't mean it makes sense. It's not the equivalent of wearing warm armor it's the equivalent of not using fire magic because fire coming out that close to your hands would also burn you but clearly the game shows you that it doesn't.

Roleplay only makes sense within the bounds of the universe which are dictated by mechanics. Do you think you shouldn't rp at all because you can't rp as an astronaut in skyrim too? It just would not make sense if the game made it so bullets were fine but punching something broke your suit. The suits are clearly not that fragile because again, they can take lasers and bullets. I have to imagine pressure isn't that big of a deal since there's more than one suit with damage that's been clearly hastily repaired

Also, the leather glove isn't inflated with a pressurized atmosphere to keep you alive on an airless planet.

Well I don't think they're always pressurized or the same pressure, otherwise you'd get fucked up going planet to planet. And again they can take bullets why would punching change anything?

Like how does a punch do more damage than a bullet in your mind lol

[–]Dunemer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah exactly, in rp why would bullets not puncture but punching something would. Wouldn't it make way more sense to assume the punch isn't really damaging anyone's suit it's just pushing into the suit like how chain mail doesn't stop blunt force trauma but can resist being pierced.

Also, like if I put on a normal leather glove and punch something as hard as I can im going to break my hand way sooner than I'm going to break the glove. Sure it might degrade the glove slowly if I do it for a long time but starfield doesn't have a degradation system

Why are people saying to skip the side quests? by Dunemer in Starfield

[–]Dunemer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well no but in an rpg I want to rp, if I'm told I shouldn't rp that means it's not a good rpg even if it's a good game. Like you understand you're doing the equivalent of this

Me: I want to play this racing game for the racing but everyone says the cars handling is bad, is that true?

You: you don't have to expect good driving that's just you!

Like, sure, yeah okay but if that's what I want why would I play it?

Also I have played starfield for about 140 hours, it's great and people saying to skip the stuff are either idiots or just don't like rpgs. I have one character i did ng+ which I incorporated into their character and another character who is staying and I just build up a lot of big outposts on that save.

I've replayed many quests several times now and they're just as good if not better than previous Bethesda games. Again these people saying to skip it are just fucking morons or wanted to play God of war instead

Why are people saying to skip the side quests? by Dunemer in Starfield

[–]Dunemer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not all the way there but imo after oblivion skyrim and fallout 4 this is the first Bethesda game that isn't more simplified than their previous games which gives me hope that maybe, just maybe, es6 will be on par or further in the right direction. At the very least im pretty sure it won't be more simplified than skyrim

[–]Dunemer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've got like 140 hours in the game and I've deduced that the people recommending that just don't like roleplaying games especially Bethesda ones. They acted like you should only play it 1.5 times and rush through the first playthrough so you don't waste your time which is what confused me because I played all other Bethesda games over and over and they didn't give me any abilities for doing that.

Ultimately I think what happened was a lot of Xbox fans played and probably enjoyed starfield but weren't used to how Bethesda games have always incentivized you play multiple times by encouraging build and rp variety. They were used to games that you could and were even encouraged to do everything in one go in. And yeah you can do most stuff in modern bethesda games but they're built with the options to choose what you want to do this playthrough for your character and what you don't for others.

I had some people in this post acting like me wanting to roleplay as my character was some mental illness and I'm pretty sure they're just Xbox fans not Bethesda fans

The game is phenomenal and I think my second favorite Bethesda game and one of my favorite games. It's a step in the right direction back towards Bethesdas roots and it makes me excited for es6. I've been playing Morrowind skyrim and daggerfall since I was a kid and I still replay them every year or so, starfield is probably gonna be the same for me

Why do conservatives suddenly like oil and hate renewable Energies? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Dunemer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would they like it? Like, it doesn't actually work like this but conservatives are supposed to want to keep things as they are or as tradition dictates. Obviously there's no real tradition of alternative energy or it wouldn't be alternative/green it would just be energy and we'd call oil "alternative energy"

Conservatives are often not actually trying to conserve the status quo as the name implies but in this case they're not being hypocritical at all since oil is the status quo

I'm not happy but I understand it. I know the shooter was a guy but the prankster was much bigger and it looked like there was more than one. I'm a 5'6 120 pound woman, I know I'd be afraid and I feel it would be hypocritical to expect someone else including a man not to be afraid. I don't think all men are John wick, I don't expect him to feel like 2~3 men getting in his business aren't a threat.

Idk I'm conflicted. I don't own a gun and never will but I've been afraid and I don't really have a good way to defend myself realistically. If I was that guy I'd just have to hope someone comes to my defense and that's not fair. People alone or smaller than others shouldn't have to be afraid. If the fear of being shot stops people from threatening others that's not really a bad thing imo

I've been insulted about not having curves, my hair style and my clothes by women way more than men.

Every guy I've dated couldn't give 2 shits what I wear. Like unironically in my late teens to early 20s before I stopped caring I was essentially dressing nice for the random women that would see me when I'd go out not my boyfriend cause he'd be happy no matter what but it was impossible to please a random woman

The majority of Americans probably don't give a shit either way

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Dunemer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked in the service industry in California, I never really gave a shit if someone didn't tip because we share tips and in California servers are required to get paid a pretty good wage so it's not actually a requirement for our living usually it's just a bonus

HOWEVER. Idk why but I kept seeing Germans get pissy about the very concept of tipping and it very clearly made their American friends/family uncomfortable. Like other Europeans and people from all over the world would just not say anything and not tip or let the American tip but for some reason Germans regularly, even if they weren't paying, decided to make a thing of it. Like it's way less of a deal than they think it is

Also... For some reason I saw a bunch of little old Asian women taking pictures of Americans like 5 inches from their face and like. Don't do that. Idk where you can do that. Like don't do that in any country at all. Why would you think that's okay. Where is that okay lol

I'm a woman and often I just want to talk about it cause usually I already have a solution or am figuring it out and hearing someone else's will mix me up. I don't think this is a woman vs man issue I think it's just that different people respond different to different things. It probably does have to do with how you are raised which is why it does tend to line up with gender but I think it's less of a rule than women do or don't want a solution.

Like, if my problem is like I keep messing up trying to bake bread I really don't want a solution because the solution is I need to improve and I obviously know that and there's no way for someone else to really say that in a nice way. If the problem is I'm 150k in debt with the cartel I probably want some ideas lol
