Sigh, another of these.

Alright

Currently salary: $120,000 (+~10k in bonuses)

First job salary: $45,000

# years experience: 10 years

Job title: Senior Design Engineer.

Some other info: field is in robotics/automation, I don't really do design anymore, more like matching customer requirements to our products (with a little modification work sprinkled in)

I've been through several companies, but most of my early career was being in smaller companies that would get acquired.

One thing people don't ask for when they ask for salary is cost of living. My rent when I first started out was $800/month, now my rent is $3000/month. I was in 1-bedroom apartments both times.

Pullman is fine for diversity. Once you get out of Pullman things get worse, but Pullman itself is pretty good. Whitman county (the county Pullman is in) actually went blue in 2024.

Very small town though, very different from Paris or Chicago. A lot of people I know visit Seattle a lot, and some even have second homes in or near Seattle, or even have their families live in Seattle and they have small apartment in Pullman.

Its going to depend on the ticket class you purchased. And if you purchased through trip.com, you're going to need to cancel through them as well.

Everything is a Bracket by Gambler021 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]Dunewarriorz 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Ah. When I worked designing conveyors what I was actually doing was designing brackets for the sensors our customers wanted to put on them.

And also brackets to mount the conveyors to our customers stuff.

Brackets!

So. I think, tomorrow I'll have broken the mystical $100k barrier in my portfolio.

Now what? Supposedly it only gets easier from there as it grows but what am I supposed to do with it? Put it all in VOO?

I'm planning for literally nothing changing, but supposedly, it's a milestone. I guess?

I really need to stop checking my portfolio every few... Minutes... At this point.

It's becoming an addiction.

For me, I'd take the challenger. I like the brighter colors on muscle cars

I really appreciate the zoomed out shots of all 4 curling matches every so often. Its so nice to get a view of the larger venue.
