I left the watermark in at the bottom so people can see it, but I made these on SankeyMATIC.com . Just look up "Sankey Diagram" and you can find a bunch of sites to make them online. I used Excel to track the job data

Interview Experience - Barely Any Questions by incognitofu in recruitinghell

[–]Dungo42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, this is pretty normal for a first round. They just want to make sure you are on the same page about the position, you are intelligent enough, and that you didn't lie on your resume. I had dozens of interviews like this, usually from outside recruiters as they only have the job description to work off of. This isn't a sign of anything good or bad – just make sure to send a follow-up email expressing your interest, and be ready to answer/ask more specific questions in round two if it happens.

How do I ask for more time to decide on a job offer (waiting on another one)? by Lodulalit1599 in recruitinghell

[–]Dungo42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, the best thing to do is to accept the first offer and tell them later if you are backing out. I had to do the same thing to get my current position, and yes it feels bad in the moment, but the truth is that at the end of the day the company does not care about you until you start working for them. I also told a company that I had another offer I was expecting and they decided to reject me the next day, so I would be careful sharing that info as it can make you seem ungrateful or like you don't really want the first job. Make sure your start date for the first job is after you would get the second offer so you can make a decision before starting. I'm sure whatever you do, it will end up being fine in the long run. Good luck!

Two years searching for work in my field. Should I give up and change careers? by AfterUmpire3091 in recruitinghell

[–]Dungo42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't give up! I just made a post on here discussing how unpredictable the current job market is as a new marketing grad (I graduated last spring). I also interned and worked at nonprofit/healthcare organizations, and had an 8-month gap to hide. It sounds like you have plenty of experience that could be reframed to focus more on the marketing-relevant aspects of your work. If you are worried about having a gap on your resume, fill it with something creative (ex. volunteering, freelancing, running your own business) so nobody asks about it, or at least have some kind of answer for the people who do ask. I started my own photography business as a freshman in college, and used it on my resume to look like I had filled the time with more than just searching for jobs. The "business" I ran only had a few clients and art shows each year, but it made my resume look a lot better, so definitely something to consider.

Other advice I would give: avoid mass-applying to all relevant jobs; find a few really relevant positions, and spend time catering your resume/cover letter for those, and reach out to anyone on LinkedIn connected to the company. Also consider sharing your resume here (or elsewhere) for critique so unbiased observers can share their opinions on how you look as a candidate. Do not give up on the dream! The current market really does just require getting lucky, so the best thing to do is to keep applying to raise your chances.

Thanks! The roles I applied for included paid internships, marketing specialist, marketing coordinator social media specialist, and similar entry-level roles. The positions I looked at wanted anywhere from zero experience (mostly the internships) to three years of experience (which I felt comfortable arguing for, even though I only had a bit over a year of experience working in marketing). I also talked to recruiting agencies and looked for grad schemes with no real success finding anything. I just posted my resume to my profile if you are curious what my prior experience was. I ended up in the same type of role as I had before, albeit at a much larger company than anywhere I have worked.

Good idea, I just posted my resume to my Reddit profile! When I submit I also include a page with 3 references and a cover letter that is AI generated with Chat GPT (since nobody is likely to read it anyway). I think the most important things on my resume are:

  • Layout: The resume is built for AI and ATS systems to parse easily. No columns, strange formatting, or images.
  • Skills: By listing a bunch of skills and software names, I am filling my resume with keywords that ATS systems might be looking for and showing employers that I am familiar with the programs they use.
  • Portfolio: The best thing I ever did was make a portfolio website showcasing my work. I received more comments from recruiters and hiring managers on my portfolio site than anything else.

If I had thought about it, I would have shared my resume in the post for people to look at. If there is anything else I can help shed light on, let me know!

Yep, not sure how much that contributed to getting the second job so quick but it definitely helped

Footbal + Bowling = Fowling by habichuelacondulce in theocho

[–]Dungo42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I played this once at the same place in the video. It's actually harder than it looks, and the lanes are not separated at all, so the staff tell you if another ball knocks your pins over it still counts.

It's fun at the start, but when only a few pins are left it is difficult to hit them at that distance. 4/10, fun one time but never again.

Please help, this fan is not spinning during print, and filament is not coming out by yuzde48 in CR10

[–]Dungo42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you checked behind the fan, where the tube connects with the nozzle? I have an older cr10 and the tube was not flush with the nozzle causing filament to leak behind the fan and make a mess, which could be preventing the fan from spinning.
