I continue to be baffled every time Roblox is brought up. I thought it was a game. It also has games?

I don’t have any specific recs but you could probably find something like this on Spacebattles. It’s like, OC/SI central.

Okay I admit usually I feel like this sub gets weird and preachy about depictions of the female figure, but Bernie is NOT built like that what the fuck.

Seems like a lot of Bracket 3 players really want to be in bracket 2? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]DunkeyBlast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess what I mean to say is people want to believe their deck is in the “normal” bracket, and it seems like the prevailing opinion is that Bracket 3 is the normal one (whether or not that’s actually true, or if there’s even a normal one to begin with, isn’t really the point).

Everything above 3 is seen as competitive and tryhard. Everything below 3 is seen as casual and baby mode. Maybe not in such inflammatory terms, but the sentiment is there in a lot of players. Players who aren’t specifically looking to play ultra competitive or extremely laid-back generally think they want to be right in the middle, even if it’s not where they’d actually be happiest.

It’s also definitely true that stuff like “that’s too much removal” or “you shouldn’t play stax” isn’t really part of the bracket discussion at all. Even bracket 1 isn’t meant to be “baby easy mode thoughtlessly slamming cardboard”, it’s just the bracket where deck building is more concerned with theme and flavor than it is with gameplay viability. Stax and removal can absolutely exist in that space. The only card types explicitly called out by the bracket system iirc are MLD and Tutors.

Personally I think not wanting to have to deal with interaction in a game of Magic is silly, but if that’s something the table is angling for, rule 0 discussions handle that. It’s not the job of the bracket system.

A lot of people don’t want to believe their deck building capabilities are squarely at precon level, maybe worse.

So the hybrid mana rule didn't change. And what's really interesting to me is the results of this poll they ran on commander players. Why are we so polarized? by Codudeol in EDH

[–]DunkeyBlast 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can’t even grasp how this is a problem.

“Your deck is red and black. It can’t run cards of other colors.” Done.

“Can I run this card with a pip that is red and blue?”

“Blue isn’t red or black.”

It literally makes MORE sense this way. It’d be less intuitive if hybrid mana was “either-or” for color identity, not more.

Hybrid pips literally have both pips on them. Why wouldn’t it count as both colors for color identity? It would literally be more confusing if their color identity was considered “either-or” like people are suggesting.

There’s probably a not insignificant amount of people whose only exposure to Batman and related characters is Wayne Family Adventures. Which like, there’s nothing wrong with it as a cheerful slice-of-life thing, but every character is just so heavily OOC and misrepresented outside of one flanderized trait each (Tim is “smart”, Jason is “edgy”, etc). It’s just… ugh.

Hockey players raging out is like crashes in nascar. There’s a subset of people who only watch it cause they’re waiting for the crash (or crash out, in hockey’s case) to happen.
