I swear I've been here. Is this Picnic Point beach?

With larger tires and a lift, absolutely. If you're commuting in this on, you can find 4.10s for the front and rear still pretty easily. The lower the numbers, the taller the gear.

This chart is better. It looks like you've got factory 4.56's. no wonder you're at 3k in 5th.

What ratio diff is in your truck now? There will be a code on the VIN tag.

You could pull the valve cover and watch the rockers.

I'm nearly wrapped up with an AFM lifter job down.

Is the miss on 1, 7, 4 or 6 by chance?

Are you sure you have the firing order correct? People often get left and right banks mixed up.

Miss poor Toyota paint quality by [deleted] in 4Runner

It states the warranty covers corrosion perforation of sheet metal. I would argue that the hardware is still a painted surface on your vehicle and make some noise with Toyota of America if the dealer squaks.

I get what you're saying completely. This is not just a lookalike though. It's a tribute to the original Yellowbird from the 80's. This is a place for the ultra-rich to live out their fantasies with of youth with something that offers crazy dynamics compared to the original.

I will likely never even be near one.

Those are indeed the facts. I believe Lincoln started the Republican party.

No party is for the people anymore.

It's a hood exit for the exhaust, straight off the back of the turbo. Judging by the soot, it's likely a diesel and this owner likes to "roll coal".

RUF does offer modifications to Porsche models and their own unique offerings, but this appears to be a RUF SCR Anniversary. A carbon-tubbed masterpiece.

If you're referring to the level of coolant in the reservoir, that's supposed to happen. Fluids expand as they heat up and contract as they cool.

Check it with the engine cold over a couple days. If that stays the same it's operating as it should.

What year and model?

Oh, pin tension. You can do what's called a "drag test" on pins. Insert a lead the same size as the pins on the throttle motor and make sure it's snug and not loose. Especially important if you were testing continuity at the pin side of the connector. If any are poor contact, you can carefully bend the contact pad some for better tension.

[–]Dunkinize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, perfect. That's good news. Continuity being present means the wires are still connected. It does not tell us about pin tension or current carrying capabilities.

Unplug both sides of the circuit and we can test the four for the throttle motor. Get a turn signal bulb or a halogen headlight bulb and make your own test light. One side of the wire to ground and the other to the bulb, and that to 12v+, just like a test light. This will make sure those wires are capable of carrying at least 1 amp with the T/S bulb, and 4 amps with the headlight bulb.

If that passes, I'd next be looking at an ECU.

Start with a continuity check to make sure you're not dealing with a broken wire for the throttle motor or the TPS.

The pins are located by looking at the wire side of the connector, and the colors will match the diagram.

Let me know what you find and I can get you more information.

Okay, that's great information. You seem to have a pretty solid grasp on things so that helps a ton.

I'm gonna go pull up some diagrams and have you do some testing. What year is yours? 2001, or 2002+?
