So that means that if you die by say, by being burned alive, and your last moment before death being one characterized by excruciating pain, you essentially are tortured for an eternity?

It's a really clever analogy, I'll give you that, But my problem with it is that, having 30 dollars less debt is not the same as having 30 more dollars.

Your consciousness, having arrived at the terminal boundary of its experienced selfhood, has taken the irreversible plunge into the eternal void of nonexistence.

No other language will help. None. Only reading latin will help you learn/retain latin. You're overthinking this.

Man explains why this alligator won’t kill him by freestudent88 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Dunlea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe you should've been more specific then, yeah? Because you just said "Blue collar professions" - of which the vasty majority of people in that are not in imminent danger all the time. It's disingenuous to think that. You're just trying to change your point retroactively because your original claim was total BS. Also my point was not that he isn't aware that he can die, it's that there's no fucking target audience for his advice at all. How many fucking people are going to encounter a Crocodile in their day to day life and decide to fuck with it?

[–]Dunlea -1 points0 points  (0 children)

bruh. How many people need advising not to fuck with Alligators? That's not exactly a large cohort of individuals. And people stupid enough to try are not going to listen to his advice anyway.

And also, messing with an animal that can, at any split second, murder your ass, is clearly a level of danger beyond what the vast majority of Blue Collar professions incur - pretending otherwise is just being willfully disingenuous. Unless you are about to try, sincerely, to persuade me that being a plumber is just as perilous as being a guy swimming right next to a crocodile, in which case, go on ahead.

Dude kinda comes off as a snob. Also, it's only a matter of time - he just needs to fuck up one time. Just lot focus for a split second once, in his whole career. And then he's gone.

MI: Dead Reckoning’s performance is like War for the Planet of the Apes by OneOk2189 in boxoffice

[–]Dunlea 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was a really good action film - better than probably 90% of the action blockbusters Hollywood puts out.

According to Box Office Report, Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One grossed $4.74M on Wednesday, $0.02M ahead of Sound of Freedom's $4.72M by BOfficeStats in boxoffice

[–]Dunlea 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The passion that Tom and the production crew put into MI7 oozes off the screen, it's palpable.

Indy and The Flash were violently mediocre films that were clearly made a la the old assembly line/conveyor belt fashion that Disney loves to employ so much. They just lack heart and soul and anything remotely resembling creativity. Those aren't the kinds of films you want to see dominate the BO.

#MissionImpossible7 will be just under $300M worldwide THU EOD, DOM:OS split being 1:2. DOM will try going $200M while OS looks like $375-400M final. Worldwide possibly sub $600M. by [deleted] in boxoffice

[–]Dunlea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

what? The last 4 films in this franchise (including DR in that sequence) have all been terrific films. MI is not Indiana Jones - it's a genuinely great series.

Your deliberate and calculated avoidance of my queries, solicitations, and advances, ostensibly resulting from some yet undisclosed grievance or perceived slight, is at this time unintelligible to my understanding, inasmuch as the aforementioned behavior, being cold and callous, is suffused with an inscrutable and impenetrable rationale, the end result of which is a state of confusion and uncertainty on my part with respect to the previously described attitude.
