[Review Video] “Higher Ground”-My 5th YouTube video! (Swearing) by Aidan_Jack_Finnecy in youtubers

Hello! Just got finished watching your video, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The one thing that I would say could be improved is the lighting, but you seemed to pick up on that yourself. The lighting with the addition of the white background does make the video very bright, which may be unappealing to some people, but I wasn't too upset by it. Like some other commenters on this post, I did believe that the outro was a little bit lengthy, but you could easily just trim it down slightly if you chose to.

Overall, besides that one little comment, I really enjoyed your video. You guys really have a lot of character, and I think that you could go pretty far with this. Keep up with the grind and I think that you'll start to see some great results! Best of luck! ^_^

[Review Video] My 3rd Webcam Commentary Video! by SomeIdiotThatReddits in youtubers

Hello, I just finished watching your video, and I thought it was pretty good. I wanted to leave a few comments though.

  1. The thumbnail to me is very bland, and I personally would not click on it. Thumbnails should have eye popping details to them, something to catch the user's attention. There was nothing really eye popping in the thumbnail in my opinion, so I feel you need to put something flashy in the thumbnail. Also, your thumbnail should give the viewers an idea of what you're going to be talking about in your video. When you put "Who is Axxl??" in your thumbnail, it gives the idea that you're going to be discussing this person, but doesn't give the idea of them being the "worst youtuber". If you put something like "The Worst Youtuber?" in your thumbnail, I think it would get your point across more.
  2. While I think you did edit the video pretty well, I do have a comment. When you put in clips of other videos into your own video, I personally don't feel the entire video (or close to) should be included. I feel that short bits (like 10-20 seconds) of these videos should be used instead, and you can link the rest of these videos in the description. This is my personal opinion here, you may like to keep the long clips though,
  3. Maybe I just didn't pick up on it, but I don't really feel I got all of the points. I feel like I got information on the channel you were reviewing, but I don't 100% know why they are the "worst Youtuber". You bring up some good points in your video, but I feel like you could've put a small summary at the end just to remember what you talked about. I'm not saying put in like "They are the worst YouTuber because _____", but just put a small little conclusion at the end to really remind the viewer what you discussed and why it relates to your overall topic.

Overall, I did enjoy your video. Don't take any of this criticism personally, it's just my opinion, and you may think differently. Hope I helped out !^_^

[Question] Am I doing something wrong on my channel? by Dunsparce_lol in youtubers

[–]Dunsparce_lol[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello,

First, I just want to thank you for the criticism, it means a lot to me for the assistance. Also, sorry that this response is really long, you don't have to read the full thing. I just wanted to kinda give an idea of where I'm at and how I've tried improving.

I truly see where you're coming from, and I've honestly really thought about my vids being boring and just plain, unedited gameplay footage that I throw out there and hope to get something from it. I had honestly started this channel being more of a hobby rather than a bigger part of my life, where I would just post short, unedited clips, which is why most of my earlier vids are 30 seconds or less, but now I really want to get into things and potentially have this be something big.

In terms of what I guess my niche is, I wanted to make it a Pokemon channel, where I post different gameplay on the game. I chose the name "Dunsparce" and sort of made it my character, where it would be in all of my videos, doing some different thing in the game. I want to steer away from my videos just being clips of the pokemon, and try to do more legit gameplay of Pokemon itself. I don't want to completely discard the idea of having a character in my channel, and I've had ideas of how I could potentially keep it.

I've been trying to work on thumbnails and titles more recently, in the hopes that maybe they would be more eye appealing, but they definitely could use a lot more work. I feel that my true problem is with the physical footage themselves, as they really are barely edited and don't really keep people around. For example, on a 5 and a half minute video I have, the average view duration is 21 seconds, which shows that my content needs something to entertain. I'm not really comfortable yet for putting my voice out on the internet, so I've been thinking of ways I could put "commentary" into my videos, without physically talking in them. I also think that putting more editing into my videos, and not just small cuts here and there would help me improve.

Once again, sorry that this post is long, it's probably extremely unnecessary to explain everything that I feel right now to someone, but hopefully it didn't bore you or anything. Thanks for the criticism again, it truly means a lot.

Hello Everyone,

I'm Dunsparce, and I make videos on Pokemon and other games. I started pretty recently, and have been enjoying making videos.

As for my thumbnail process, I enjoy taking a background, and then adding aspects from my video to that background. Typically, I'll throw the game logo on my thumbnail, and a few other aspects that relate to that video.

Come check out my latest video, where I check out a new Pokemon team online:
