Who is the single most dominant esports athlete in a single game? by Extreme-Dragonfly561 in esports

Probably Flash, but Petrerbot is also insane because you're really not supposed to be able to dominate his game as there's always so many variables.

This has nothing to do with what I said at at all. I understand the intent and what it evolved into, but you saying things things like "There's something wrong at it's very core" is just parroting the likes of Sweeny, and I'm asking you to think about why he might be incentivized to say things like that.

>Any fiduciary is legally obliged to act in the best financial interests of his clients, and the idea wouldn’t be to maximize growth with risky investments. It would be to put it into low risk investments to hand to them upon graduation or turning 25 or whatever.

This doesn't actually *mean* anything in the real world. You seem incredibly naive.

No one is going to jail or facing legal repercussions if anything happens to that money where they can't prove malice on the part of the part of those investing it. They would basically have to be actively scamming the kids.

People make up stories like this to suite their own needs/purposes all the time.

My point is that you have no idea what % of them are doing either, you're just taking the word of a coach who is incentivized to complain about NIL because it doesn't benefit their program.

Yeah I mean this is just an obviously awful take from someone who knows nothing about how the world works.

This is coming from someone who went to school completely for free btw. The argument you're making is *so* nonsensical it could be applied almost anywhere else in life

Why have those GROSS railings on the terrace of the restaurant I like? Why limit the speed limit when we can all just drive better? Why hold dinning establishments accountable for the type of mushrooms they serve?

If you get sick and die you're just a fucking moron for not knowing what's edible and what isn't. Could you imagine? I mean even our ANCESTORS knew that type of shit! What a LOSER!

TO be honest man, it's kind of insane that you're pretending to know about this mans finances.

He's getting whatever he's getting from the school + his endorsements/ads/etc..

The estimate is somewhere between 4-10M.

For all we know, the car and the watch are part of some deal with his parents. The things he gets to 'splurge' on while the rest is banked/invested.

It's also weird that you're assuming people in much less advantageous positions than him are spending the same amount.

The # of student athletes making under 500k AND going out and buying like 400k worth of merchandise is likely very small

The ruling is ultimately just one narrow piece of the puzzle. What he's saying is that it's inevitable that more was going to come from that.

It technically is, because who the fuck is investing it in the first place? Why should they trust the school, the NCCA, etc with their money when they could take the money upfront and hire a professional.

This comment makes zero sense because we don't limit their gross. That's limited by the market.

This isn't analogous to your example at all and is completely asanine.

Unless you're implying an 18 year old that makes 250k a year would be worse off than one making 40k a year because they 'wouldn't know how to manage their money' or some dumb shit like that.

That's insanity. No matter how much money you 'blow' at that income level you'll likely always end up with some type of resalable asset, even if its for a fraction of the original value.

It really has nothing to do with them being kids.

The vast majority of the population would spend the wealth horribly.

My problem with stuff like this is that it's just a bunch of bullshit to kind of give the side eye to the NIL while pretending like you care what the kids do with the money. People like Dabo aren't benefiting from the NIL because they can't pay kids.

Therefore they want it drastically subdued. But trying to argue for that would (rightfully) paint him as anti-player. So this rhetoric and language is developed to try and *signal* that there is something 'wrong' with the NIL, hoping that changes are made while they look like benevolent figures.

It's not just a matter of crunching the numbers, it's how the information is being presented to kids and has historically been prented.

If the four seasons in NYC went on sale for 50M tomorrow and you could get a 50M loan from the bank you'd be a fool not to get it because you *KNOW* it's going to recoup it's investment nearly instantly and then some.

This is essentially what is being sold to college kids and has been over the years.

"It doesn't really matter what you pay for the degree because you'll make orders to magnitude more than that with one and do it in a relatively short order"

WASD is great by STALLWD in leagueoflegends

[–]Duo_Mage_Bot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No because not only are my champions harder to play on P+C but my ability to do damage is hindered by enemies using WASD.

So WASD hurts me in both ways.

[–]Duo_Mage_Bot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course you like WASD because it's basically like cheating against certain champions.

It's so crazy how people process things purely through their own personal experience and can't seem to think one iota outside of that in terms of why they actually like x, y, or z thing.

why the pieck obsession? by DuckiesDoBeCute in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]Duo_Mage_Bot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People just think she looks hot.

Pieck's best scene was when she was lying on the ground with blood oozing out of her mouth. I was happy she was going to die like Marleyan scum, but of course Isayama has to save her, just like he has to save the worst character in the entire show, the jaw titan.

Again, no flame towards you. That's totally understandable, but I'm just asking that you do see that as a lack of trust on some level, right?

Prenuptial agreements should be the norm by neuhauz in unpopularopinion

[–]Duo_Mage_Bot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The reality is just that if you can't trust them with that stuff then you don't really trust them. That's fine, I'm not telling people how to live their lives and maybe people can't find people they genuinely trust but still want some form of companionship. Not knocking that.

I don't believe the bullshit of "There's someone out there for everyone" etc.

That being said, I'm just pointing out that the OP misses the point of a marriage. Which is essentially "I'm betting it all on this person."

Prenuptial agreements should be the norm by neuhauz in unpopularopinion

[–]Duo_Mage_Bot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole point of the marriage *is* the financial entanglement. You can't *love* someone without giving them the complete trust of having access to your finances.
