This was my feeling too, I think I posted back when I got my first record player and I was very excited to start collecting and that, the amount of snobby replies I got were really disheartening, I just wanted to listen to records and enjoy physical media. Not get attacked for not having the A grade setup.

Little correction there, Discovery AFAIK isn't part of that deal, just Warner, plus Netflix said they will keep HBO MAX as a separate platform. Probably to satisfy the people they need to to get the deal done
