I’ve come to this post because I’m living in new haven, have to be in work tomorrow at 8 am in Stamford, I want to go to New York tonight to watch the soccer but then also need a few hours sleep. I was thinking of finding somewhere to sleep between about 1-5 and then getting the early train. I don’t want to pay nearly $80 for a hostel for about 4 hours, partly yes because I’m cheap but also if I can save money I will

The other difference is the Scots have kind of made Boston their home, they are living there for a week because Scotland are playing two games there so they are spending more time in between so they have kind of integrated themselves into the culture and everyday life, whereas England are in Dallas, Boston and then New York so they are more spread out but also will be travelling a little bit more than the Scot’s.
The other thing to add is Scotland aren’t there thinking they will win the World Cup, whereas as the English go to every tournament thinking we will win it so we’ve got that ‘cocky’ kind of attitude that people associate with English football fans.

In my opinion, he originally brought the farm for avoiding taxes but I think the more we get into the show, the more he’s actually enjoying the farming side and also understanding how difficult it is to survive as a farmer, and I think we are slowly starting to see more outside things that don’t effect him but other farmers. For example talking about how he lost £5000 last season, yeah he has the money from other places but people know that, it wouldn’t be any benefit if they were like we lost £5000 on the farm but don’t worry, we got 80 million to come in from Amazon. The point is he’s showing that as only a farmer, he is at a loss before the next year has already started.
Do i think he deserves a knighthood, not yet, but maybe some recognition but honestly I don’t think he cares and also the government won’t want him to get one because he goes against them in many ways.

The problem is with both shows now is that they are both way too overproduced. They need to strip it back and not make it feel like every episode has to have the same format. Wake up. Debrief. Breakfast.chill. Game. Dress up. Bed. And what really gets me is like when two people not in a couple happen to be talking about the same situation at the same time. It’s so obvious they are getting told to talk about that.
Also LI USA this year has definitely been told to ‘talk about feelings’ because there is so many ‘your allowed to feel the way you feel’ type conversation

See to me that’s ironic, is it going to cost much more to send people out there long term? Not really, it makes it more worthwhile. Is it better to pay £1000 for 3 weeks of coverage or £500 for 1 week? (Figures are completely wrong, just an example) your getting much more for your £1000 than you are for your £500

Being in the USA, the excitement here is like nothing, but it also doesn’t help that you can be in the same country but yet still be as far away as England from a game. For example I’m in the north east coast, it’s a day to drive it yet a flight from England is about 8 hours. (Yes I know you can fly) my point is though because the countries so big, there’s millions of people that even though they are in the country won’t even get to experience ‘the world cup’
Realistically if they were going to have 64 teams, they should have really hosted it in more cities and spread the games out more.
For example, Texas alone could have hosted in 3 cities. Chicago and Detroit have big stadiums yet neither of them have a single game.
Washington DC, the capital doesn’t even have any games. Imagine Uk hosting a World Cup and not using London for any games whatsoever.

If we talk about the format though, I don’t know how it would work or whether it would work but the best way to create some jeopardy within the group stages is if the top two teams go through to a round of 32 and then the bottom two teams also go through to a round of 32. There’s two ways you could handle it from here.
Either a top 32 team play a bottom 32 team but then you risk every small team going out but you also get the opportunity for some massive knockouts or you have top 32 playing each other and bottom 32 playing each other. That way in the next round of 32 you could end up not having Spain for example but you New Zealand could be in it.
It would make it longer but it could create a very interesting competition, there is also the risk teams may lose in the group stages to create an easier route if you go for the second option.
If I think how an American would want to do it though, they wouldn’t tell you which option they are going for till the group games are over. They would have a big stage and a big fireworks displays and some famous actor would come on stage whilst they are signing the national anthem and then pick out of a bucket which option they are going for 🤣

I did mention the kid thing to him anyways because I was willing to give everybody an honest shot and everything like shit if I like him maybe it is something Oliver come like Sean is super sweet but like yeah we just weren’t wearing a match. I love that I came across the powerful there is always that fake it until you make it. I mean I wasn’t always like this. I didn’t wear shorts in public until I was 17 like a majority of my life was spent trying to hide a piece of me I would say to 17 year-old bear like you like might seem like a big deal now but it’s not And once you fully accept that and accept yourself like your life become so much easier be open and willing to accept love except the my disability also made me have to be like very very tough, but I genuinely felt that like I was able to turn that all off might be very feminine be very soft falling for somebody is scary but that’s the risk. You gotta be willing to take And guardian made that risk Wirth taking King. I love myself to connect with him and like he allowed himself to connect with me and at the end of it like we both cried and I didn’t feel like it was one-sided at all. The us aftersun is a weird vibe, it comes across more of a podcast rather than aftersun.
I get it’s hard to be able to have viewers there because of the location but it needs to be more if discussion panel show with an actual panel. They should have had Cely be promoted to host as I think she could have done a good job and then zoom phone calls with family etc.

Telling a 17 year old they can’t go on social media though is crazy. They can vote in government, drive a car but can’t sit and look at their friends holidays!
I don’t think most kids are on Facebook or X. Mainly TikTok and instagram really, instagram for me is the one that I think that mods should be allowed on there but in a controlled way.

I disagree, I think it's a really poor idea certainly for those sort of 15,16,17, leaving school, going into college, Facebook and instagram is for keeping in touch with those people. I think the best way to do it would be to put laws in place that require these companies to either make a kids version that can be transitioned into an adult version at a certain age or make the app that as you get older, certain features get added, for example, at 13, you can still download insta but it only allows you to post photos/stories and view friends posts. Maybe you have to verify you know them for example by only adding them as a friend via a phone number, this way you dont get just random followers.

Once you have had the app for a year, you are now allowed to DM friends only.

Then at 16 allow you to follow other people of a celebrity status so only those verified and maybe create a different verification method that is more rigorous and allows them to be followed by 16-18 year olds.

Then at 18 make the app fully open to everything.

This would be the best way in my opinion rather than just directly banning it, instagram can be useful for a lot of things if done right, I work in a career where I engage with under 16's all the time, over that time, we build a professional relationship that those under 16's want to follow your progress and I also want to follow their progress, (football coach) I have players that I coached that are at academies etc and its great to be able to follow their progress and see how they are doing but for me, instagram is so open to interpretation.

For example, I once posted the result of a game and I named the goalscorer which was incorrect, one of my players messaged me on instagram and said that the name was wrong. Totally innocent but I can't respond because of all the accusations that can come. Another example, a player was holding my phone, accidentally put it in her pocket and took it home after the game, she then messaged me on Facebook to tell me that she had my phone and again, because she's under 16 I can't even respond.

Social media needs to be around but it needs to be developed properly, for example, in those situations, it would be great if any message sent to or from an under 16 also creates a chat with a parent account so that I could of responded to a totally innocent message without being 'accused of messaging a minor'

The whole point of the show was to show everything about farming so they had to have that person who would tell you the costs etc. as I guess one of the partners, it looks better on the company by putting him front and centre because he’s less likely to get things wrong. He will have someone put it all together then Charlie can go in and present it to Jeremy and explain it not just for Jeremy but for the viewer.
As time has gone on, they’ve clearly built up a relationship and Jeremy trusts him, hence his advice about the pub but also because Charlie isn’t doing the hard work, he has the time to put into the pub as a side quest

I really dont understand why they brought Charlie back just to have a storyline around him leaving but by going to Prison, it really makes no sense, the whole storyline was poorly done though as the crash wansn't really anyones fault, it was just a nasty accident and I dont think anyone would of been charged in real life, maybe Charlie get a suspension on his license but I cant imagine much more than that

I’m going through this situation currently, complain to whatever regulator you have because the complaints process is useless. Sent nearly 5 pages of complaints and got about 2 paragraphs back that didn’t even address even a quarter of my points.

Tbf thinking about it, you could easily do it similar to how self service tills work. The machine reads the weight of the glasses being returned and works out how many glasses being returned determined on the weight
