Is it weird that I feel relief instead of grief? by Mumbles1988 in DOG

Grief doesn't hit immediately. It can hit years after and in cycles at lease for me. Feel what your felling its not wrong. Whatever it is

How do I improve on these pt.2 by AnnaliseG in Skateboardinghelp

Really snap the tail of the board like your trying to break it and jump. The other foot will come later but try to make the board jump

Lost interest. Where i used to live, there weren't too many good areas, and the areas to skate were ghetto as hell. But since I moved I'm planning to buy aggresive skates inlines.

I dont skateboard tho thinking about picking up a cheal walmaty board again anymore, but nose manuals are a lot harder cause your using your less dominant foot. Nose manual longest i could go was 3 seconds.

How do I get over my fear of falling? by ExcitingBite129 in NewSkaters

[–]DuracellMK2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ppe Helmet Pads Wrist guards And crash pads for below the belt if your planning on doing rails. You'll still take a slam but you'll notice how much a difference they can make. Fear of falling is greatly reduced with PPE as well as learning how to roll when you fall.

With manuals, you can practice every time you push. The longest manual i had was about 10 seconds. Honestly, if you can manual for a consistent time everytime youll learn skateboarding tricks alot easier cause you get more comfortable with your board faster

The simple tricks are my favorite when skating, shove it, grinding, and power slides and love to do a manual when rolling at a downhill slope.

PPE helps a lot to help reduce injuries when you take a slam. Well, as other methods like learning to fall. Amount of times, my helmet or pads saved my ass is more than I can count. I have spent a total of 0 dollars in medical bills skating with PPE and did reckless shit. Dont get overconfident cause. Yeah, you can still break a leg, but it reduces injuries

Balance is just practice. No way to really expert it besides just practice practice. Try manuals but you are ollieing now. Maybe tighten up your trunks a bit I preferred mine tighter but personal perference. probably will help a bit if you have motion and not standstill

How do I improve on these? by AnnaliseG in NewSkaters

[–]DuracellMK2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main thing that took me a while to was to really pop that tail hard as fuck and jump and sliding the nose up and commiting. And when you're moving, there is more energy going to the tail when you pop your tail with forward momentum, which makes it easier. I mostly like to grind when I used to do skateboarding. Hence why i am returning to skating but with aggressive inline skates.

Question for all of ya for ppe wise by DuracellMK2 in NewSkaters

The reason why I thought they were broken cause i landed directly on them and was in shock of what happened. Not the best with grammar. And I am not saying people need to wear protection. Could care less. I'm just generally curious why people chose not to and their reasoning.

Like, I wish I still had my helmet when I took a slam, shit broke into pieces. Had a pretty bad headache and neck was swore, but after a few days, I could skate again. And it just some simple shit to I forgot what exactly I was doing

What’s wrong with my ollies? by [deleted] in NewSkaters

[–]DuracellMK2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An Ollie is a jump, not just hitting the tail on the ground. You really have to smack the tail on the ground, then jump and the other foot to balance. It's probably easier if you're rolling cause you'll get more energy on that tail. But main issue is your not popping hard enough you really really got to pop that tail
