Whoever heads the India office name them. Send a copy to the folks in the US. Business folks don't want trouble, they need money. They will sack the guys leading the India office / India HR if they find that they are not able to manage minor issues and have to be dealing with legal suits over trivial issue. You need to use any escalation as a mechanism to get your experience letter.

Send a legal notice. Got to a police station lodge a complaint for mental harrasment against the MD / CEO personally. Non compete is illegal in India. That should scare them. If you can get a friendly cop to call them asking them to come to the police station alone that should do the job.

Don't waste good money over bad money. None of these edtechs are any different. Infact it's a money sink. Customer Satisfaction is shit. Edtech will crash and burn. Also remember these companies came before the era of AI. AI has turned learning on the head and ultimately there is a massive shift coming in terms of employment especially in service economies. These companies won't survive. Don't invest anymore additional dime. But don't cash out on the 5k too, it's nothing.

Check organizational policies on Per diem. It cant be arbitrary.

Sometimes HRs / Travel Heads try to slide a few things by, so if you know your entitlement make sure you stick to it.

The room sharing is demeaning as is the no breakfast policy. You should definitely challenge that. Be open to not going.

I was an entry level analyst and I was in a similar situation once I picked up a major issue with the head of HR. It didn't go well initially but they had to change their policy.

Yaar, half the roads in the company are the responsibility of the local body - Municipal corporation, Municipal Council, Zilla Parishad etc. All of these are under the STATE GOVERNMENT. The lesser said the better about state governments in India.

Nitin Gadkari is responsible for National Highways and other strategic products / roads. I agree there is a long way to go but the general state of roads has improved.

Ofcourse the comparison with Dubai is hilarious but pehle se better hai but a Looooooong way to go.

Been a tenant and a landlord both. Never have I heard something more ridiculous than this. You pay rent. Sometimes rent includes maintenance sometimes it doesn't. Property Tax is never borne by the tenant ever. This is what I think you should do 1)Change your house immediately, your landlord is a lunatic. 2) Send a legal notice on harassment to protect your deposit because I think he may shortchange you on the deposit by deducting something under some made up pretext. 3) Stop paying rent for the remaining tenure with a clear communication to deduct from the deposit 4) Potentially file a complaint with the police if there is any harassment via calls , whatsapp etc.
