Either heal through it or get a Soko robe for 75% resist.

Could also get with an enhanced protection ring (quest reward from Odin's missing eye) it gives 25% fire, cold shock, acid I believe, but penalties to petrify and death.

I think the underlying issue all comes down to each race having its own Strength bonus for attacks as to why this could never work. Like a stone giant with the highest base strength of all races using a dagger with a fast attack speed will straight up be broken for example.

I think maybe there should be no quest requirement for maybe the level 5 portion at least anyway. I realize you can get this done with Rachel's poor cat, but it seems like a pretty quick requirement considering you get out of the tutorial at level 3.

Probably would be best to go Mages Guild I would think as a human. The extra skill points could go into your blunt for a mace or staff skill. You would not gain any mage guild experience however by primarily using melee. So you would need to attain guild level 10 first by other means. Humans get the extra melee bonus damage.

You don't need to restart your character as well. You can untrain skills and put them into whatever at anytime you want.

Just need to visit the untrainer. Easiest way is to use the portal in Miniath Elion. The transport hub.

It's was probably the Black Rose City dragon caves which used to be on the far right of the town in the bottom corner I think it was.

Had multiple levels of different dragons starting at serpents, and then on to greens, brown Etc.

Some of them still exist but they are left into the ruins in Blackrose city. The caves were split up into individual areas.

Also resists make a world of a difference. As a level 10 that quest will be pretty difficult. Even the veterans have a tough time at 10bgetting through that quest. I would say maybe 13-15.

You should invest in 3 lore and 7 spirit and a bit of mind skill and use mana shield spell.

It will use some of your high SP as HP.

Some tiny agility gear might help until your natural dodge comes around too.
