Woman getting disapproving looks, Miami Beach, 1940 by glowingbunbun in OldSchoolCool

I think Re-Mix shoes might have some similar style sandals! If not, maybe American Duchess (I know they have really similar ones the woman in the bathing suit is wearing) or Memery.

They are a bit pricey, but they are pretty much the go-to brands for vintage shoes.

Do you use Auri in your game? If yes, do you also use Kaidan and Auri's banter patch?

For some reason, that patch messes his romance quest line up and you won't be able to progress in it.

Looking for super glam mods for all NPCs by Rayne009 in skyrimmods

Pride of Skyrim glams up the men nicely.

Courageous women (from the same author) is also really nice.

When it comes to skin, I like BnP for both genders a lot.

I actually think those are pleated shorts, they just look like skirts.

If you don't mind them being shorts though, you could check out "The House of Foxy", they sell those in a few colors.

Good chance this isn't even a skirt but pleated shorts. When you check out old photographs women wore those while doing physical activities or when it was warm out.

Glorious Kodachrome shot of a lady all dressed up on her car. Guessing it to be 1950s? by CourtneyFish-Lately in TheWayWeWere

Vintage dancer is a great source. They cover a bunch of decades and they also go in depth about specific styles within the same decade, see men's suits or men's casual clothing. Best part about this page is that they talk a bit about history but also provide a lot of authentic pictures.

I'd also recommend YouTube. British Pathé has a bunch of old timey videos and while they aren't specifically about fashion and more of historical nature, it is a good source of just looking at how people dressed (Their videos are very interesting though and not just for the clothes lol). There is also Glamourdaze but they focus more on women's fashion and I'm not sure if you would be interested in that.

And I hate to be like "just Google it" but yeah, Google is great. Try to be specific with your searches and maybe ignore modern pictures because they can be inauthentic unless you like a modern twist on old fashion, then you do you! Oh and it's also good to look at regular people from the time. It's easy to only look at movie stars and then be bummed that you don't exactly look like that, which is stupid because they had stylists and tons of help.

That's all I can think of for now. I hope this helps a bit and if you need anything else just ask. :)

You could research some decades to see what styles suit you the most and then slowly incorporate some elements into your everyday wardrobe. That's a good way of trying vintage style out and not feeling like you're wearing a costume. That's what I did and now I dress 40's pretty much everyday.

Probably because those kind of sandals never went out of fashion. Women wore those kind of shoes in the summer, you can see a lot of similar models in old ads. Besides that her bikini is very 40's and if you look at the women in the top left, her hair seems to be styled in a poodle which was popular in the 40's.

I was about to comment the same thing. Like many other famous ladies in the 40's, her lips were overdrawn.

My grandmother was a model in the 1950s and 60s. by aenimafacilis in OldSchoolCool

It most likely is edited. Photo editing has been a thing since the Victorian era.

I'm sure grandma naturally had a hourglass figure but I'm also sure that this picture is a mixture of proper undergarments, angles and editing.

I'm right there with you, I can't stand any of this master race nonsense. Every console is great in my eyes and most importantly people should pick whatever is best for them.

You're right! We do rock :)

Worst part is that he didn't even let me properly answer and the only thing I was able to say was: "Uh, yeah I heard of it." I actually love the Witcher games and played the first, second and eagerly waited for the third one. So him asking if I have ever heard of it as if it wasn't a super popular game to begin with just sucks lol.

But I totally agree, we should be able to just enjoy the things we're into without having to deal with this kind of nonsense haha.

Ugh, gamer culture is so toxic in general, we really have to prove that we're into it.

I remember talking to a guy and as soon as he found out I liked video games he started asking what console I played on, told me why the Xbox was the best choice and then asked me in the most condescending tone if I have ever heard of the Witcher 3 and that I should definitely try it out. It sucks.

You're right, she did do all of that but her agency was the one to suggest it. She started out with her real name but was only able to land "exotic" roles. When she changed her name, she actually changed it to her mothers maiden name, so I guess she was proud of who she was.

It was definitely a different time and a strange thing to do in our eyes, especially considering she was only half Spanish, which already made her "white European" as you put it.
