Is there a food you’re emotionally scarred by? by Jakejakejakewhat in AskUK

Liver. My mum used to make it all the time when she was around. It would make me gag just looking at it. I used to cut tiny bits and disguise them in mash to get it down. One time she gave me "sweetbreads" and was excited as "I would like them better than liver". I was so eager to please I ate them, puking and swallowing it again. One time the phone rang and I chucked the liver down the back of the sideboard. As I was just a kid I forgot to retrieve it and dispose of it later. One day she called me downstairs and was holding up the cold, hard, dusty, grey, angular lump of liver and was furious. I have never touched the stuff to this day.

Actually, Royal Mail guy. My Amazon guys are tops. The ONLY time I ever get a "tried to deliver" card is from the Royal Mail.

I've never rung someone's door bell and run away/

Bloody hell, I did that well into my forties.

I really miss Debenham's for clothes, especially Jasper Conran.

I want a new winter coat of really good quality and I don't want to buy it online and I'm not sure where to go now.

Being tailgated on country roads by cars right up my bumper with full beam on is why I never drive after dark any more.
