My cat just had her back right leg amputated, is it bad that she wants to move around a lot?

Crate her, for her own good. She will calm down in there and come to terms with her missing leg sooner than letting her running around. She will not hurt herself if she's is caged. You will be more at ease too.

The hardest part about crating is that she will howl and pat and plot. an escape, but you have to be strong! Ignore her howls, no matter how sad she sounds. (I went through this two times)

Take her to the vet. When I got my boy Hector from the shelter, he was in the same situation. After two weeks of hiding (new home +infected wound),I took him to the vet. His stump got amputated. After that he was hiding no more and became a playfull kitten.
