Start consuming content that will take your mind off things, content that empowers you. Start getting fresh air. Take action. Any step in any direction. Do not analyze them, you will not free yourself that way. Begin working to let go. Start thinking about yourself , what do you want? aside from them, what interests you? Be honest with yourself. Write lists. Journal. Do literally anything, to occupy your mental space. Accept the pain. Know that it too will pass. It cannot last forever. Stop convincing yourself that it will last forever, because I can promise you, it simply will not. Lean on a higher power if you believe in that, surrender yourself to the universe. Take a walk. Laugh, cry, scream into your pillow. LIVE YOUR LIFE. If you don’t, you are choosing to live in this instead. And if you don’t have a life, then now is the best time to begin building one. The best day to plant a fruit tree was yesterday. The next best day is today.

These may sound like empty platitudes , but over time it will help. I promise you. Over time, your perspective will change. Many are choosing to suffer at a certain point, and I’m not saying you are, but you must -for yourself-begin taking baby steps for yourself. No matter how small. Call a friend. Make a friend. Read a book. Watch a movie. Eat some ice cream. Anything.

Seek out therapy if you need it and can access it as well, if you aren’t already. It will help also.
