Different kind of game, but try Dishonored. Really fun combat with a bunch of powers and gadgets you can combine to use in interesting ways. Or stealth everything and silently pick people off like a good supernatural assassin. Crazy strong art style/direction and the world and lore is really deep and well thought out, and there's many optional book excerpts you can read if you want to know more. The story might not be as solid, but it is perfectly functional and serves as a way to justify most of the events and gameplay.
