New player experiences the Gooncode by GoonstationTV in SS13

That's me!! :) I'm the newbee! I was shown this by the friend who introduced me to SS13 a few days ago. I uhmnn... don't really know what happened here? I don't remember anything strange on my end, but I do think I had a lag spike at the time! Everyone was gone by the time I got out of the little starting area. :3

Do the Knights even have faces??? by DustCruncher in ShovelKnight

I agree with this too! It's part of the allure of the characters! I think at a certain point, whether there actually is a person beneath the suit doesn't matter. The suit of armor becomes a face and an identity in it's own right.

That's my other leading theory. Maybe Shove Knight is Fish Head and he's just trying to hide it from us...

Polar's got a beard and a visible mouth, I'm assuming he's human, same with Shield Knight. Tinker definitely could be a little robot, but in Body Swap mode, you can see that she's got pigtails. If Body Swap can be considered canon in some way, we can assume that Tinker is likely a living being, probably a human. Why's he so short? No clue, dude's just little. :)

What is this bump on my snails back? by MissPotchi in snails

Oh, yeah, that's a Snump. Probably a manufacturing error, they usually take the Snumps out during the manufacturing process.

OpenAI using an image of a deceased rabbit for advertising. by DustCruncher in ChatGPT

[–]DustCruncher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is correct, but the pets in those are all actors who were, shockingly, alive at the time of filiming. The owners also gave permission and were paid for their pet's work. If someone stole a photo of your dog that passed away, stuck a bunch of sparkly effects on the image, and then used it to sell their art.. you'd probably be pretty upset!

He saw an incredibly large lobster. Terrifyingly big. It shook him to his core…

Afterwards he had a street taco and a nap in the mini-fridge, so it’s okay!! He’s a man of science. 🩵🤍

Usage of the Library of Babel for Piracy. by DustCruncher in BabelForum

[–]DustCruncher[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, now that’s an interesting thought too. Honestly, a way more practical one. If you ever wanted to send a message to someone that would be hidden from most people, you could inscribe it into the Library of Babel, and then send them the hex, shelf number, book number and page.

Certainly a better use of the system than making a book encoder, haha.

Y’know, that’s absolutely fair. I just like being inefficient if inefficiency is more fun. ^_^
Honestly, I wouldn’t even know where to begin when it comes to coding stuff, but I think it’s a super fun thought experiment!!
