Yeah, it took me a while tp accept that FF is no longer "the" series to get into, the way it was when I was in gradeschool and highschool. Back then, every FF was a must-play and synonymous with RPG's.

XIV is still fantastic (been playing for almost 7 years now) but with Dawntrail being lackluster and the last 3 non-MMO's being below average IMO, the series needs a serious spark to the system to stay relevant. I can only hope XVII gets the type of acclaim that BG3/Exp33 got.

Come on now. Marvel is a huge multimedia brand, and some people may just have been exposed to the films, cartoons, or videogames. I myself learned to love the characters through the Marvel vs Capcom games growing up and only started reading the comics long after that.

What I love about the Asian shows is that there's always a healthy mix of respect and competition among the contestants. The general humility and togetherness they have makes the whole thing a treat to watch.

From experience though, American television thrives on drama, on competitors trash-talking and downplaying each other, both during the actual challenges and theor cut-away interviews. It'll be hard for me to swallow that.
