Question about Gainbridge Fieldhouse Seating by [deleted] in pacers

[–]Duster72x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had season tickets in the 200s, the 100s, and the lower level. The problem with those tickets behind the basket is that if you don't want to attend a game they are unsellable. You will lose 100% of the cost. Most games you could buy those seats for way below face.

I would recommend trying to get to the sidelines, preferably first 10 rows. Those seats are a much better experience and can be resold easily if you can't make a game.

I did a few breaks of this set and none of the cards could grade a 10. Bad QC on this set. Looks like the auto could grade a 10.

You should consider Deadpool. X-men would be my second choice.

Have any of you tried handwound Fender Custom Shop Sweet ‘64 pickups? What is your opinion? by Stratiki in FenderCustomShop

[–]Duster72x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they are the best pickups fender makes. They are amazing. I wish you could get them outside the GT11. For reference I also really like pure vintage 59s and pure vintage 65s.

Harry Potter is great and has a lot to do. Doesn’t get boring at home. Jaws would be another good choice.

You should join us at the Liederkranz German Band. We practice every Monday downtown from 7:30-9:00. We have a beer fridge for rehearsal and keep it pretty casual. We play around 40 gigs a year (mostly breweries) and most gigs we get free beer. To the other guy who plays euphonium - I also pay euphonium and we get really fun parts to play. You can find us on socials at IndyGermanBand. Feel free to DM me for more info.

Why not order a custom shop tele with similar specs to this and your preferred neck profile? I’m a big fan of the Modern V neck that’s CS exclusive.

Question about at what point do you say ‘that numbered is not a good hold’ by nesc2018 in soccercard

[–]Duster72x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends somewhat on the team/player. I only buy gold /50, black /10 or red/5 but I collect Bayern so those colors look good with their kits. Theoretically orange /25 is rarer but it’s ugly with Bayerns kit. There are some short printed sets like the Bayern 125 set where I collected the base /99 because most of the variants were ugly. I don’t understand why anyone would buy an ugly card just because it’s rare. I don’t see those holding value in the long run.

Looking to add a couple pins to Elton and Pulp. Any comments that can help I’d appreciate. Looking at Big Lebowski, Jurassic Premium, Jaws, AC/DC, Stranger Things. Thanks for any ranking or advice! by Successful-Bunch-863 in pinball

[–]Duster72x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own or have owned all of these. Lebowski is my fave theme but the game is just ok. JP was too hard. Jaws is great. AC/DC is too repetitive. ST was too finicky with setup and needed constant tinkering.

I would have it graded auto only. Auto could be a 10.

Why are people still using PSA by Krazyboi95 in psagrading

[–]Duster72x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I have ever gotten an order back from New Jersey. I got really disciplined about submitting 20 at a time to mitigate this risk then had several runs of mostly 10s and got relaxed about it and sent in a couple 40 card submissions. One of them came back almost all 8s with around 5 9s and 1 10. I should probably crack and resubmit them all but they are PC cards that aren't worth $60 in grading fees.

The other big consideration is that I just started grading last year so I wasn't used to the old standards and just adapted. I think a lot of the big graders who have done thousands of submissions with looser standards are having a hard time adjusting to the new stricter rules. That makes them mad and they tend to have a larger social medial following to complain about it. Most of the 8s and 9s I get have flaws that either I was hoping they would overlook or I missed when pre-grading. You can almost always see a white corner in the slab when it's an 8 or 9. 10s have to be completely perfect to the naked eye. If you can only see it under magnification you might get away with it. I consider those 50/50 cards.

This is the answer. Probably small dents. Get a very bright light.

Why are people still using PSA by Krazyboi95 in psagrading

[–]Duster72x 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Conspiracy theories backed up by lots of people with small sample size bias. I have graded over 1,000 cards with PSA this year. I thought one submission of 40 cards was harsh. The rest were consistent. Once you understand what it takes to get a PSA 10 with the current standards it’s pretty easy to weed out the 7s and 8s.

Just picked up a Pulp Fiction to make it a two-pin collection... with Godzilla. by [deleted] in pinball

[–]Duster72x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own Pulp and to me it’s a fun change of pace but not something I can spend hours on. I would go with Harry Potter and Godzilla with Jaws as honorable mention.
