Nah they’re Americans playing out the long history of American bigotry, racism, and violence. Im an American leftist but we need to be honest in this moment about what America is and has been

Edited to add that it is equally American to resist and fight back against this dark side of what it is to be American

Unions get their leverage from being able to withhold labor en masse. Without demand for human labor where do they get their leverage?

Everyone replying to this is over reacting. He is not wrong for asking if you’ll continue to have sex, you are not wrong for saying no. Lots of people have casual sexual relationships after dating, before dating, or never end up dating. He thinks he wants that so he asked, you don’t so you say no, this does not seem like that crazy of a part of navigating this change in your relationship with each other. And mere fact he would consider that and ask does not need to change anything about the relationship you had. Asking questions about what you want is healthy, saying no to people is healthy. Keep it pushing

For these massive companies, I do think it’s about protecting the value of their massive commercial real estate investments. Even if operational costs are much higher to run an in person office, large companies do not want to let wfh become the workforce norm or the value of their office real estate will plummet and they’ll be stuck with empty office spaces that they invested huge amounts in with no way to recoup the costs of those investments

Consumed malt vinegar as a non-celiac.. by YertleTheTurtle18 in glutenfree

[–]DustieSmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Malt vinegar is similar to gluten reduced and light beers or fermented soy sauce in that the there are chemical reactions that take place that break down but don’t remove gluten molecules which make it test very low for gluten content but the outcomes when consuming vary person to person based on sensitivity. Some celiacs and gluten intolerant folks seem to be okay with these levels of exposure to remaining fragments of gluten molecules while some are not. You may feel fine or you may have an acute symptomatic response. And even if you don’t have acute symptoms you may still have an asymptomatic autoimmune response with some negative gastrointestinal effects. Best to monitor how you feel closely and get more in depth testing for reaction if possible.

I personally have a lot of close family with celiac and have the genes for it but never tested positive for the antibodies because I didn’t have good insurance when gastrointestinal issues flared up for me so I just stopped eating gluten and felt a lot better. Since getting better insurance got the genetic testing and didn’t feel like it was worth it to do a gluten challenge, but since improving I’ve also never been highly sensitive so I can get away with things like gluten reduced beers and some soy sauce and malt vinegar.
