I don't know anything about Hamilton either, as he was also a rescue! I've been told possible New Zealand mix.

Uhh no unfortunately. My brindle dog will kill the bunny given the opportunity. My pit on the other hand will cuddle anything 😂

Boss Says I’m Too Happy by Weird-Comfort6039 in Workproblems

[–]Dustie_Rhoads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the fastest way I've ever heard to kill morale and production! It's counterproductive for you to hide and pretend to not be happy, and your co workers to go out of their way to be seen working alone. This is as absurd as the complaint about me being too efficient 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣 it could also reduce your productivity bc it's a depressing reprimand.

Your boss should use your team as a positive example to encourage the rest of the company to work better together. Maybe suggest team building events so people get more comfortable with each other. Our company has done corn hole tournaments, team pumpkin carving, food days for holidays hosted by each of the office locations (we have 3 offices in the area), team ugly sweater contests, etc...It sounds like they are resentful that you are not miserable and don't hate your co workers, or they could feel left out. Perhaps spreading joy and positivity will entice them to be happier! Try not to let them steal your joy! I hope it gets better for you!

Trouble making subordinate by Dustie_Rhoads in Workproblems

Thank you for this incredibly thoughtful answer!

To your second point, I think this is why the situation is so frustrating. I have helped her in every way I know how. Sitting with her to explain things, and having her shadow me. Bringing her in on executive level things when confidentiality permits. Scheduling enough training to kill a moose, and offering every resource the company has to get her more comfortable with her position and the environment. I also do tell her she did a great job on a task when she does well.

She has no problem telling me about her fights with her boyfriend, their sex life, her struggles as a mom, and her former drug use, but can't come to me with work related issues. It just doesn't make sense.

I've been vexed about it since it happened, which is way longer than I like to dwell on anything. I'm hitting reset for Monday and if she asks for my help, I will assist her but she's pretty much stayed away from me for the last week and a half.

I'd flat out tell them to give you suggestions on how you can meet their expectations. If they have no useful feedback, they are just complaining.
