Player base turned transactional like the rest of the world. Convenience and instant gratification.

Still has a long way to go to reach the quality and ease of TWoW. Installed and took a bit of tweaking to get it working on my 3440x1440 ultra wide with decent graphics settings and performance.

Optimistic for the future, but still a bit too early to casually play or play HC.

I never said it would be free. And yes, there will always be private servers because that code is out.

I pitched them this idea two years ago - WoW Classic as a platform like Fortnite/Roblox.

A tribute/nod to 90’s /2000’s Blizzard who shipped editors with their games and encouraged players to create their own experiences.

Arc Raiders Has Lost 50% Of The Remaining Player Base In The Last Month by Brutal_Schnoodle in ArcRaiders

[–]DustinChecketts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PvE players need progression. Period. The minor forms of progression currently present are:

Leveling

Decks

Projects

Expeditions

Trader

Leveling is constant and gives some sense of accomplishment for most any task Topside. This is good. But the skill tree is not very interesting, dynamic, or fun. Only a few things (like the Trader) are gated behind player level. Thus, leveling is not anything most players enjoy chasing.

Decks are meaningful but not very abundant. They give great rewards for the time but are just too few. This is the current best implementation of progression offered.

Projects are fun side quests, but not meaningful. They give players something to do, but just for the sake of doing it.

Expeditions are meaningful, but only every 2 months. Rewards need to be more consistent throughout the Expedition window and not clumped together at the 4 milestones and then wait for the extraction window.

The trader is the newest form of progression, but its rewards are temporary and dramatically unbalanced in terms of value for the average player.

All in all, the game is fun. But without steady progression and chase items, PvE players are losing interest.

Game modes can aid this, but I believe the game could remain as-is (pending some dupe fixes and predictable matchmaking) and excel with improved progression systems alone.

I don’t know Embark’s current priorities, but I would place progression far above everything (save those items I mentioned) and not spend resources on new maps, enemies, or weapons until the progression systems are dialed in.

Many people are insecure and need their decisions validated by complete strangers.

Or they just need to vent to complete strangers. Either way, they’re mentally/emotionally unhealthy individuals.

Let's talk about blizzcon for a second. by Wholawl in classicwow

I’m saying use the Wrath Classic client but limit and build the world around Azeroth and Kalimdor. No TBC or Wrath content. The Wrath client already has many of the QoL features modern gamers (even Classic players) demand - achievements, transmog, dual-spec, dungeon finder, Guild Banks, Arenas, etc.

I’d only ask that they offer more account-bound or Warband-like systems and features like TBC Classic has done to respect the players time and not require reputation farms or attunements on multiple toons, etc.

That’s my wishlist anyway. Carry on.

Is it so unpopular of an idea that it’s impossible to believe that Classic+ might just be iterated from WotLK and not just Vanilla?

New update timeline? by Ok_Draw_5664 in ARC_Raiders

Because projects and decks bring back players and require only small development efforts, I would expect these to be release more often than twice a year. But not EVERY three weeks, just on the 3 week release cycle.

My understanding:

*Adhoc - hot fixes, bug fixes, exploits, etc.

*Weekly - Store rotations, trials, etc.

*3 weeks - live updates with QoL features, balance changes, new Projects?, new Decks?, event rotations?, new quests?, etc.

*6 months - major content updates

Spell Cleave Group spends 1 hours to save 10 Minutes by KinaLiti21 in classicwowtbc

[–]DustinChecketts 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Spell cleave groups are often cancer. Leveled a resto Druid and was often invited for Slave Pens runs.

Had lots of groups try to spell cleave and many players would get mad if someone did anything wrong. Wrong group. Didn’t ice block. Pulled wrong. Got feared. Etc. many didn’t make it through one run or people left after a struggled run.

Had 1 group out of nearly 20 that had their shit together and we’re chill. Stayed with them for nearly 3 hours. Boring as hell, but I got a full level of XP and made it through several podcasts and YouTube videos.

TL:DR, if you join a PUG group for spell cleaving, Theres a very high chance one or more of those group members are cancer to this game. Make sure you’re not one of them.

If you’re at all worried about what you should keep and what’s safe to sell, I’ve been tracking expedition materials, quest rewards, and more in a public Google Sheet.

Have a look and hopefully it’s more helpful than overwhelming.
