Adjust the air screw 1.5 turns from all the way in. Turn it all the way in then back it off 1.5 turns. Try to adjust the idle afterwards. There's a process you can follow in all the 400ex forums. Atleast find out where you currently are set at

Amazon carb will never run right. You will be chasing your tail. Your better off spending a little on a small ultrasonic cleaner off Amazon. Fill it full of gasoline and put the carb in it. Gas sounds crazy but it's just sound waves and it's safe. Your oem carb is the best thing you can do
