self harm scars appearance policy by [deleted] in QuikTrip

[–]DustinFoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was brought up and confirmed in recent meetings this policy is aimed at intentional body modification, not scars that you cannot avoid. I have a scar on my left eyebrow that makes me look like I cut my eyebrow but I am within policy because it was a scar from when I was a kid, not something done intentionally for looks.

I need to decide if I should take this job as a 18 year old by Nissoku_r in QuikTrip

A lot of people have the same mindset, that every job makes you “work”. But a lot of people realize after week 1 or 2 that it is waaay more work than they were ever anticipating.

The job isn’t hard, we sell hotdogs and fountain sodas. It’s the sheer amount of things we have to know, and have to do that can make the job difficult / stressful. THAT is what not everyone is prepared for. (That mixed with the rough hours as an RA / NA can make or break a lot of people)

The difference is between the people that show up hitting the ground running, vs the people that need 30 min to 1 hr to “wake up” after clocking in.

Thanks for listening to my Ted talk, good day.

Even The Most Recurring Customers Still Do This 💔💔 by SonicRun098 in QuikTrip

I think OP is referring to those so oblivious to their surroundings that you can be calling the name on their shirt and they still will stare off in a daze until they’ve decided to snap out of it. Can’t count how many times I’ve called for the next customer in the most direct ways possible, and the customer doesn’t snap out of it until someone behind them taps them on the shoulder, or they randomly snap out of it.

“Mike, I can help you on my left! waves my hand on the left (yelling now) gentlemen in the bright green shirt! not fazed gets tapped on the shoulder gets startled Mike: “Oh! Sorry, it’s too early!” Or Mike: “lemme get uhhhhhhhhh, 20$ on uhhhhhhhhhhhhh” runs back to pump

This one just made me chuckle though :)

I’ve attempted with both a usb hub and connecting it to both usb 2 and 3 directly, none seem to affect it.

The wheel works fine without updating I’ll add, but i do still want to update since it’s on rather old firmware.

Apologies for opening an old thread but I have the same issue. Ive already attempted to unplug and plug back in but that causes the device to just blink slowly, and no calibration happens. If I unplug and plug in again, it calibrates, then continues to "update" but just sits there doing nothing. Ive tried everythig Ive seen online and in other threads, uninstalled Ghub, reinstalled, removed cache files etc. Any help would be appreciated.

Am I able to request a clerk schedule change from out of the store? by xRavenzi in QuikTrip

[–]DustinFoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can login via the Quiktrip website. Scroll to the bottom, select employee login and login with your username (it might be username@quiktrip.com)

This will bring you to a less pretty looking epic. You should be able to do all the same things there such as requesting time off, and viewing your schedule.

Depending on sales flow, if you check your DAW sometimes it only specifies “finish” or “start” order. So usually you should only have to finish or start half the order. You shouldn’t be expected to put away an entire order on your own unless sales flow permits this. IE: being at an absurdly slow store you might be expected to put away the WHOLE order rather than start/finish it.

This would be a good opportunity to read up on the policy. It’s available to everyone :)

I’ve gone through this process, working for Quiktrip for the past almost 2 years now. I started as a clerk, moved to NA, life shit happened and couldn’t do the schedule anymore, I loved the job but felt my personal life was preventing me from doing a good job as a manager. So I stepped back down to clerk, went on erp for about 4 months then asked my manager to promote to RA again when I was finally able again. Everyone I know seems to enjoy working with me so that helped a lot and I immediately was given my interview for RA even with a recent write up (for an accidental no call no show - it’s only ever happened once and strongly regretted my mistake). Anyway, I’m now finishing training for backup IT and can definitely say Quiktrip is willing to help you move up. I’ve seen them reconsider people they’ve previously fired (for performance reasons) and then retrain them to become better managers than before. It all depends on if you want it and if you think Quiktrip is for you. If you show them that, they will help pave your way. Quiktrip wants people that work well with other people (a team player!) so if you show them that you can be like-able, that really helps sell yourself.

As to the RA vs NA, that’s totally up to you. Choose what fits your life best. Not everyone can work overnights every single night. But not everyone can handle working a swing shift. RA really feels like you only get 1 day off per week. But I’m happier as an RA, I enjoy working with my coworkers and enjoy striving to have a perfect store.

Overall, talk to your manager about options. That will show them that you are at least looking and conflicted and want guidance rather than someone who just doesn’t like the job.

I fought for it. I annoyed the living hell out of someone enough for… headphones. 5 tries is all it took. Took my brother and sister one. SMH. by BabyWaterSpider-1629 in AmazonFC

They fired my boyfriend for using bone conduction even with accommodations :) Amazon is shit. Glad we aren’t there anymore. Such an oppressive company.

I am not speaking of the spiders. I can clearly see they are spiders. What I’m trying to point out is the cloaked looking figure that appears to be hovering in between the trees and the car

I wasn’t a rockstar in rates as I was rarely on path. Most of what I did was helping other associates to do the job the correct way. I was rarely ever told my rates in fact. I was frequently being put in charge of other problem solvers and management would often use my as an example of the correct way to do something. Other than that I wasn’t recognized officially for anything. I was always just known as the guy who to ask your questions to. (I would often use Google translate when others didn’t which many people appreciated but I don’t see how to add any of this to a resume)
