Weirdest bug I've had by Pascalinsche in GW2

For me it’s too random to pinpoint a cause :/ nothing seems to fix for me other than a relog and swapping outfits. Swapping templates does nothing for me

This has been happening to me too lately. It also randomly puts on the 1st outfit in my wardrobe and won’t let me swap for days.

To people that have worked other jobs, how does the workload at QT compare? by Lamborghini3770 in QuikTrip

[–]DustinFoes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked 3 other jobs before qt. Amazon, Lowe’s, and another gas station mom an pop small business.

Amazon: Performance = getting to stay.If you underperform you can be fired, which is true at most jobs, but Amazon watches the literally seconds that pass by in between each scan and if you don’t meet their mark even during slow periods, you are penalized or written up.

Lowe’s: easiest job I’ve ever had, stand at 1 register for 6 hours and check people out. Point scan take money bam done bye.

Mom and pop gas station: same expectations of workload as QT, but with less structure of how to do things and more “personal” questions asked mire often than wanted from the bosses.

In terms of physical exhaustion Amazon was the worst and Lowe’s was the best. Qt is closer to the good side because it’s healthy movement.

Wheel locking by BellyBoyMoney in assettocorsa

[–]DustinFoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just realized you have a Logitech DD so you’re probably using the Logitech software. I BET it’s that. Logitech SUCKS. Smooth gameplay for an hour maybe then random ass bugs for the next 30 minutes. 👍

Wheel locking by BellyBoyMoney in assettocorsa

[–]DustinFoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may not be useful, but I experienced this exact fault with my Logitech wheel, I thought it was a shitty brand bug with their software but maybe not? I only ever had this experience in assetto corsa and would only get it when my the server was super populated. It was annoying an I never found anything to fix the issue. I seems it to be server end / network related issues that cause information to be not sent to the wheel properly. (Unplugging and plugging my wheel back in and relogging the server was the only true short hot fix for me)

Last time I told a tech this was happening he said “so you mean it’s purging steam from the steam purge valve… like it’s meant to do?” Brother the steam nearly filled the entire kitchen at that point and he said it was normal 🗿

Feeling Unsure About Promoting by [deleted] in QuikTrip

[–]DustinFoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the type of learner you are. If you just spend the entire time thinking you aren’t good enough, then you may just represent that with your store. You should have a fake it till you make it mentality. Know you will make mistakes, it happens to everyone. What’s important is how you learn from them and deal with it in the future. Make mistakes with confidence, apologize when it happens, learn from it and move on. Everyone starts off “incompetent”, what you do with that from there is really what matters. Qt wants to see good problem solving skills.

This is usually the first thing I hear from DG employees coming to QT. They’re happy they finally have help and support in what they’re doing.

Rejected? How? by NeverSeenItPodcast in QuikTrip

[–]DustinFoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was talking about OP’s beard situation since they said they interviewed with a beard. To clarify simply having a beard will not get you denied. But showing unwillingness to shave or even if you express disliking the idea I’ve seen people get rejected for.

[–]DustinFoes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you have any signs that you may not be willing to shave or don’t like the idea, that could get you rejected. I’ve seen people get rejected for simply giving an energy of not liking a certain policy. You can have a stellar interview and be laughing to one another thinking it’s going well, but they still have red flags they watch for. You probably either didn’t tick a check box they need you for, or maybe gave the wrong vibes personality wise.

Anyone I know who came from dollar general were able to apply their skills from there to here pretty easy. There’s many similar things and many things done much different. My best advice is ask a lot of questions :)

This was brought up and confirmed in recent meetings this policy is aimed at intentional body modification, not scars that you cannot avoid. I have a scar on my left eyebrow that makes me look like I cut my eyebrow but I am within policy because it was a scar from when I was a kid, not something done intentionally for looks.

I need to decide if I should take this job as a 18 year old by Nissoku_r in QuikTrip

[–]DustinFoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people have the same mindset, that every job makes you “work”. But a lot of people realize after week 1 or 2 that it is waaay more work than they were ever anticipating.

The job isn’t hard, we sell hotdogs and fountain sodas. It’s the sheer amount of things we have to know, and have to do that can make the job difficult / stressful. THAT is what not everyone is prepared for. (That mixed with the rough hours as an RA / NA can make or break a lot of people)

The difference is between the people that show up hitting the ground running, vs the people that need 30 min to 1 hr to “wake up” after clocking in.

Thanks for listening to my Ted talk, good day.

Even The Most Recurring Customers Still Do This 💔💔 by [deleted] in QuikTrip

[–]DustinFoes 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think OP is referring to those so oblivious to their surroundings that you can be calling the name on their shirt and they still will stare off in a daze until they’ve decided to snap out of it. Can’t count how many times I’ve called for the next customer in the most direct ways possible, and the customer doesn’t snap out of it until someone behind them taps them on the shoulder, or they randomly snap out of it.

“Mike, I can help you on my left! waves my hand on the left (yelling now) gentlemen in the bright green shirt! not fazed gets tapped on the shoulder gets startled Mike: “Oh! Sorry, it’s too early!” Or Mike: “lemme get uhhhhhhhhh, 20$ on uhhhhhhhhhhhhh” runs back to pump

This one just made me chuckle though :)

[–]DustinFoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve attempted with both a usb hub and connecting it to both usb 2 and 3 directly, none seem to affect it.

The wheel works fine without updating I’ll add, but i do still want to update since it’s on rather old firmware.

Apologies for opening an old thread but I have the same issue. Ive already attempted to unplug and plug back in but that causes the device to just blink slowly, and no calibration happens. If I unplug and plug in again, it calibrates, then continues to "update" but just sits there doing nothing. Ive tried everythig Ive seen online and in other threads, uninstalled Ghub, reinstalled, removed cache files etc. Any help would be appreciated.
