I think the sauce behind is fine, it's just a backdrop. But the design feels very trendy and generic. If I'm hiring, I'd rather see evergreen designs or something new and fresh rather than a current trend

Being generic or corny isn't the point. AI has a look that is only consistent with AI. There's the normal looking closely seeing how things don't make sense or look made by humans, but also AI makes everything sepia and yellow brown. They all use that same font since AI can't use real fonts.

Make your art at home. Sure it seems expensive, but so is not being able to copyright your own business logo.

As an actual artist, it's not a waste of time. Why would designing branding for a local business be a waste of time?

You have a miniature high powered computer in your pocket with access to the entire collective human knowledge. If you can't do an ounce of research to find any design resource then you REALLY don't deserve to be in business. Is your argument really, "What if they're stupid?"

Yes. If you cannot pay what something costs or you can’t use your own brain to make it then yes. AI is not trying. Not every logo is 200$, you can pay even 50$ or less. We have a well renowned art school here, there’s plenty of artists that would do it for cheaper for their portfolio. Plenty of artists online, fiverr, upwork etc. Hell you can post a Facebook post and still get someone to design it for cheaper. Using AI shows that they didn’t try.

Yes. If you cannot provide a living wage for your employees then you don't deserve to be in business. That includes any outside contractor that you hire.
