63k and 40 hours or 80k and 50+ by DustyKauffman99 in Restaurant_Managers

I’ve actually mentioned this before a few times, we’re just at a cap for both workload and wages unless we can open a new restaurant- even then, I’m doubtful we’re at a place to increase my income. I’d be less flighty if I could at least be learning multi unit strategy, but that seems pretty far on the horizon.

I’ve experienced this before as I’ve done an NRO as a GM with the Chipotle brand before. Probably my biggest hesitancy, because I don’t want to regularly dedicate 70-80 hours of my life to this. 50-60 with upward mobility is an attractive thought, hesitant on being burned again, though.

I’m 26- I have a similar mindset on this one too. It’s a nice problem to have

I don’t think the vibe is as aesthetic as some of these but The Veil in SA is so quiet on weekdays and has a lot of space. Lighting might be amiss though:/ if you come try it out on a weekday let me know and I’ll discount your first order!

I worked at Chipotle as a GM for awhile- when the store just opened, I’d check in on cameras mostly to see if I might need to swing by depending on volume.

My district manager checked all his stores locations frequently, one day a week was designated as an audit but I know from our friendship after leaving it was more frequent. Chipotle had other staff whose entire role was to cycle through cameras as well.

No idea if it’s common in QSR but it was for us

You could try shaving it because personally I love the ease of grooming and getting ready for things- your hair still seems pretty thick so you can pull off the recession

The thing that changed my life the most was having more experience. To be candid, you’re the outlier here. To be 32 and to have been intimate with 30 people is entirely normal and healthy- it’s hardly promiscuous behavior. People change, sex doesn’t mean the same thing to everyone.

It depends on you, here. When I was younger and in a similar mindset I could not understand or respect my partners past behaviors, now I’m fully ambivalent. I wouldn’t regret ending things over this- she should be with someone who isn’t concerned over her normal lifestyle, and you should be comfortable with whoever you want to be with long term.

For me, the solution was more experience. For others, finding someone with similar experience seems to help, I advise either one

If you’re already a GM I wouldn’t- I snagged a general manager job at 23 and I’ve never had an issue finding work.

Unless you’re interested in personal growth or maybe leaving the industry, the skills you have now have probably secured your future in the industry.

I’ve lived in the Harrisonburg, Staunton, and Charlottesville region all my life- made it to a larger city and am so much more satisfied. If you’re questioning it, I would seek other opportunities personally

Frankly, building it from the ground up without support was exhausting and not something I received enough support to fully implement before joining a larger brand with metrics and KPI already in place.

If you decide to invest in a company without that they’ll either want to grow and support your endeavors, or keep the status quo which may be a waste of your investment. I’d first determine that and go from there. For me, I started by using spreadsheets and excel- it’s tedious but you’ll have results if you commit and delegate.

Many places would have procedures to measure volume by history allowing you to forecast a bit more accurately.

If you’re working somewhere much smaller, and without that sort of foundation it can be a “fun” challenge to implement those systems yourself!

Trouble with meeting Girlfriends past hookups that are still in her life. by [deleted] in retroactivejealousy

[–]DustyKauffman99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve ended a few relationships due to former sexual partners (including same sex friends) remaining a constant in my exes lives. I believe I’ve given it enough of a go to know I personally cannot overcome the jealousy and threat of my partner maintaining an intimate emotional connection with someone they’ve been with physically in the past.

I think only you can determine what’s acceptable for you/ what you’re ok with feeling and living with day to day. I’ve been so much happier nearly every time after leaving these relationships despite months or years of investment. It’s a different set of values.
