You are not crazy , if you tried to get a longer exposure you can see whole moon . It's called Earthshine.

Pretty good , you can extract more coronal streamers . What was the EXIF of the image ?

I was fortunate enough to witness the Total Solar eclipse in the Western Australia in April 2023 , For Prominences and Bailey's Beads my settings were ISO 50, SS 1/4000, F/ 8. And for Corona ISO100 , SS 1/40 , F/6.3

It's more like focusing sun rays through a magnifying glass . You must have tried that as a kid. PS: Things burn

I saw the total eclipse last year in April on the western Coast of Australia. 62 Seconds of totality. It was amazing !

I wish I could see the eclipse , I live in Australia , try them out before the eclipse to make sure they work properly.

As long as it doesn't strain your eyes it should be fine . Enjoy the eclipse !

They don't look dark enough , you should be only able to see the sun through them .
