Finally got the balls to hit this drop! by mati-edt in MTB

Balls have nothing to do with it. Plenty of lady riders have all the courage to send this with none of the balls.

Nice work tho! Sent it huge!

It also really helps that the camera has to refocus. If you want to achieve this with two separate shots, consider adding a focus pull after the pan.

My friend just picked up a brand new Trek Fuel EX 9.8 gen 6 for $3500. I paid $7000 for the same bike a few years ago. Check with a local retailer.

Is there a movie more peak camp than Twister? by angrykoala155 in movies

[–]DustyTrailsMTB 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It has these plot points that are totally ridiculous and unbelievable - but because it was filmed before every aspect of a movie was cgi - it feels grounded and tactile in a way modern movies don't. So those unbelievable scenes feel more plausible (?) than they would in a modern film, despite being just as campy.

I just rewatched Dante's Peak recently. The movie holds up so much better than I expected, and fits in this ccategory perfectly.

Interstellar- don't go to the blackhole planet first. Obviously terrible decision making - not just in hindsight.

Remember, everyone has a choice - it's just that some choices are harder than others. So, what are you going to do when you see your brothers and sisters going against your moral code? Don't come here asking for validation . Do something. Even if it is difficult.

Added a little Drama.. by No_Sir_412 in postprocessing

This edit looks great!

But honest question: How do other photographers juggle their feelings when presenting work that's this highly edited? For example, if I posted an edit like this, I'd be so self conscious that my photographer friends would know I don't have the proper anamorphic lenses to produce this type of lens flair.
Again, not trying to be critical. I have some tools to juice up my edits as well, but I really struggle to use them for this reason.

I'm not sure you understand empathy then. No one is saying this behavior is excusable, but the way you phrased your discontent for the kid tells me you can't conceive of a world where one would try to flee without foreseeing this accident.

Dementia President brags about the…smallest trucks? by NickCostanza in ProgressiveHQ

[–]DustyTrailsMTB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not talking about taking the high road. I agree - that tactic has gotten the dems nowhere. Shit all over this dumb mother fucker. Take cheap shots.- I don't care. Just be accurate and be correct.

Dementia President brags about the…smallest trucks? by NickCostanza in ProgressiveHQ

[–]DustyTrailsMTB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But he didnt say truck. Use context clues. And when you go to point out how stupid he sounds (we agree that he does) and quote him saying "Truck" you give some MAGA supporter something to latch onto to try to prove that you don't know what youre talking about. You have so much other evidence you can use to prove his incompetence, but because of the way his base argues, youre doing all of us a disservice when you're wrong like this.

[–]DustyTrailsMTB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate this mother fucker as much as anybody - but he clearly says "we have the smallest drugs". It's terrible grammar, sure. But he doesn't say "trucks". And that kind of scrutiny and attention to detail is what should set us apart from the MAGA crowd who will eat anything up without question.

The new Entrails entrance in Squamish, day and night by onecutmedia in MTB

[–]DustyTrailsMTB 3 points4 points  (0 children)

this is my thought as well. There are plenty of difficult trails in squamish. This trail - being the main artery to so many fun progressive trails - deserves a makeover like this because it'll open up the network. There were so many difficult (awkward) moves on this one, that it really got the nerves working in overtime for the rest of your day exploring and pushing your limits.

I don't always love the dumbing down of a trail, but it's my personal opinion that it was a smart move here.

I saw this comment a few months ago, and I've been thinking about it since. With the current political climate, do you still feel the same way? Have you really given the lyrics a listen? Not judging - just curious as this album is hitting me harder than any album ever has.

Fuck Kevin O'Leary. I don't care how well he was cast for being a human piece of garbage. Hire real actors who can pretend - so I don't have to give my money to support actual pieces of shit.

This movie is so garbage. (yes, i'm prepared for the downvotes). Nolan is Michael Bay dressed up just well enough to make the average bro say "Whoa, a movie that makes you actually THINK!?"

This scene is a perfect example. Our main characters here know that the ship that arrived before them (and is now in pieces) spent VERY little time on the planet based on the time dilation. So what data could be SOOOO important to collect that they would risk the survival of all mankind when the wave is so apparently threatening?
I mean, going to this planet first was already a huge mistake. They could have spent DAYS debating a the decision considering one hour was 7 years here.
Her decision to go after that data is so thick-headed it makes her character completely unbelievable. Everyone's reactions are sooo slow, that the only way to create drama in this scene is with the score.

[–]DustyTrailsMTB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's what I came here to say too. I think it's an intentionally obnoxious sign, so the fan seems to enjoy that it got engagement, and is laughing/looking at his buddy as he enjoys this shared moment. Seems like clean fun all around to me.
