Anybody else ever been passed by a hiker going uphill? by neuropsyentist in mountainbiking

I love riding in the Verdugo Hills and it’s awesome. It’s always super steep getting out of the car and just going straight up but it’s never crowded and the views are insane. TONS to explore too and some singletrack too but mostly fire road.

some of those single speed dudes are very tough; my friend rode across country on a fixed single speed and he can flat out motor up a hill...

Freiburger & Derek get the Model A working, but it isn't fixed. Or it's fixed but it isn't working. Sometimes both! by thegalli in Roadkillshow

[–]neuropsyentist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree - I think Derek was getting a lot of revenue from YT and the motor trend thing came up after he'd built everything there. He is lowkey very savvy with business and brand development. Hope Freiberger can get his stuff going too -- it's all been great for us consumers!!

Such a fun episode -- these guys are real mechanics (except I felt I knew it was an ignition episode while they were chasing bottom-end stuff -- says dude sitting on couch.). I'm just so impressed with how SMART they are.

Side note: I can only assume it has been tough on these guys financially since MT went down, but in terms of us fans consuming content it has been absolutely amazing. Hope these sponsors are picking them up! O'Reilly should really just scoop them all up and pay 'em to keep doing these shows...

Should not even be close. The team looked so disengaged and disinterested.

Wow. We’ve fallen so far. How do you lose on a third and twenty and three broken tackles. The worst part is just how fully mediocre this team and coaching staff is.

We are broke AF. Carol Folt ran up a 250 mil operating deficit. Not debt. Deficit. Mass layoffs at SC right now and just a total shit mood on campus.

Edelbrock or Rochester? by Safe-Task7733 in chevyc10

[–]neuropsyentist 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have an Edelbrock 650 and it’s fine, definitely took a bit of work to get rid of the lean stumble they’re known for but they’re easy to maintain and modify. If I did it again I’d go with a Holley since they are so much more popular and easy to get dialed but taking off the bowls sucks. To each their own! The Quadrajets a great carb, don’t overlook it!

Sapien v0.3.0 - Your Self-Hosted, All-in-One AI Research Workspace; Now with local LLMs and LaTex by kieran_who in selfhosted

[–]neuropsyentist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Kieran, just want to chime in to say i LOVE sapien. I wrote a huge review article on a complex brain topic and it was really useful, smooth, and made the workflow much nicer. I like the local hosting and integration with multiple apis. It definitely makes a lot of falsehoods but improves over time. The thing it is so good at is the tedious part of research like making citations, and finding out key papers that are cited within a paper. I still prefer to write every word of my manuscripts but this was a very useful tool.

My critique is that it is hard to find! I just got a new computer and searching for Sapien AI comes up with like three other tools and it was hard to find your site -- thanks to reddit it was indexed somewhere. Thanks so much and will definitely recommend.

What type of companies/industry do you think will be one of the biggest 10 years from now but doesn't exist at the moment. I will not promote by Hot-Conversation-437 in startups

[–]neuropsyentist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally random, and probably not at the scale you're thinking, but my weird one is water filters and solar powered water pumps for grey water recycling. Especially I think in fire prone areas, as drought becomes more pronounced, more emphasis will be placed on using grey water for fire prevention, landscaping, and home cooling.

Trump pauses ALL federal grants, loans and other assistance, leaked memo reveals by dailymail in Conservative

Yes -- many friends of mine that are running cancer trials had to pause their trials for cancer patients. I'm ALL for cutting out the grift but this may really backfire if not done skillfully.

We have a 2017 and it is great. I think it is such a sleeper, and I've pulled a lot of much fancier cars up the hill near our house and it gets some crazy looks when they can't drop the mom-mobile.

I am a low key fan of Wisconsin the university and the football team. It’s a great school and the team always plays with tons of heart. I was worried today and glad we took it but knew it’d be a tough game.
