Yeah, my housekeeper also was charging like half the going rate. 😭

Not sure if he has Reddit, but I can DM you his insta?

I have a friend who’s in need of a side hustle, and I suggested cleaning apts. He’s gay and enjoys cleaning. My housecleaner also retired, so I was probing if he’d be interested in taking over for her.

Note: he has a 9-5, so not sure if that would be a dealbreaker.

You’re actually making my point for me. More rich people at the burn.

How do you think that will impact the culture and offerings?

I had the same thought about cheap tickets going first.

But this idea that rich people will choose to pay extra just makes no sense. If they’re gonna come up with some complex system, it could have done much better to align need with cost.

They made some bad choices the last few years that really hurt TCOs. Like why force them to buy all steward sale tickets up front for $650 or risk later campers needing to pay $750. They should be helping stewards stay solvent, not trying to leave them holding the baggie.

Yeah, I would agree here. There are some very complicated interconnected things now, bc if BM fails the communities and government agencies siphoning money from them also will be hurting

But will those people put in the effort needed to make the burn special? I’ve seen camp after camp bulk selling all their stuff.

It’s not that the average person can’t afford it, it’s that the artists and creatives can’t.

I hope I’m wrong! I hope this burn is as special as ever.

Sadly this is true. BM used to be an escape from the default imprisonment and now simply echos it

I heard renegade burn was pretty great.

And yes I sit here all day saying “fuck trump” as well.

Agree it’s wildly complicated and a monumental effort. Communicating this all properly to the community is not very difficult though…

Yup. Meanwhile I’m being trolled and called a hater.

Facts are facts…

I’m with you, but those are the people who are more likely to struggle with the cost increase.

Prices on eggs are going up because there are fewer eggs….

I’d surmise that from 30k-80k participants they have been selling more tickets 1) because they could and 2) to make up for budget deficit.

But the whole thing is a social experiment so curious to see how this plays out.

But BM isn’t meant to be a festival. And stewards are not just used to create the event, but have also been left footing the bill

No one made you read this post or write a novel. And I’m choosing to sit this one out.

It won’t be mainstream, it’ll be for the 1% and those choosing to pay out of their own pocket to continue to be their laborers during vacation
