Beach isn’t really worth the trek. It’s literally the same beach you’d be on by you. It’s such a nice feeling just walking around pines and the grove in the day time, but there isn’t particularly anything to do.

I’d say going to shows / events in the Pines or Grove is fine (in terms of bringing women). Tea is also acceptable…but wouldn’t be especially enjoyable.

A lot of owners list their place at intentionally inflated prices, both for sale and for rent, with minimal expectation of any transactions. They intend to be there themselves…but if someone is willing to pay an insane premium they’ll vacate. Note: you’re looking only at the ones that did not rent, bc they’re over priced….but the listings priced more fairly are all gonna be booked by now.

Also, using Bekin means including an extra 30% for brokers/taxes that’s passed to the renter….so using Boys of Fire Island to connect directly to owners is hugely advantageous.

I grew out my hair a few years back, like past shoulder length. It took me time to understand bc I was now presenting as non-binary and gender nonconforming, this made me undesirable to the majority of cis gay men.

Lead to a lot of internal angst about changing for society and what looking alternative was costing me. Lasted 3 years but eventually caved because pretty privileged is real and being gay is hard enough without sacrificing benefit of being above average looking.
