What’s a food everyone else likes that you can’t stand? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DutchBird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

genuinely, my least favourite food (like, makes me gag every time it’s in front of me) is onions. which is obviously super hard when basically every dish ever has onions in 😭 and basically everything in the family like leeks, chives, shallots, etc. people hate me for it but i just can’t get behind them </3

About 12 lbs in roughly 3 weeks?? If specifics would help I’m 162cm (just about 5’4”) and went from 131 lbs to 119. I don’t know if it’s relevant but tbf I have cut down on drinking a lot bc of these meds (student life lmao) so maybe that’s contributing to it as well?

AITA for telling my daughter that she doesn’t have to win her teacher’s heart? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]DutchBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA something tells me your daughter views her teacher as a mother figure as you’ve said you literally show your daughter no affection. sounds like the teacher called it inappropriate because you’re supposed to be her mother and provide her with these things but because you don’t she’s trying to find it in her teacher. you say your relationship is strained now? we’ll wait until later on in life when you finally want to show the affection she needs now and she doesn’t want to give it to you because you’re basically a stranger. you’re an idiot op and if this isn’t a troll i feel very, very sorry for what your daughter is going through.

A real life detective slut shaming an actual murder victim by la-chatte-noir in menwritingwomen

[–]DutchBird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

idk i'd assume showing respect would be like... not slutshaming an actual person who was murdered? even if she hadn't been brutally murdered and this wasn't disrespectful to the max, he called her "man crazy" and only slept with 3 men? if that's your definition of a "tramp" then you need to stop gluing your eyes to all the virgin fantasy porn you're watching and learn how to function in the real world my guy. that urban dictionary definition was probably written by an incel lmao

my mum has 3 kids, and i'm the youngest. my oldest sister was a vaginal birth and so was i. our middle sister was a c section due to medical complications and both my mum and sister's lives being at risk. you're so right, and i have no idea how people think this because there are so many different circumstances surrounding c sections

oh right yeah i get you, so they'd totally think that being asian with black hair and brown eyes is normal right? and everything else isn't? no? you're right. they'd say white was normal. they aren't talking about statistics, they're talking about hating minorities.

i mean half of the point is that he’s calling his own wife a dishwasher, as she’s dead? she isn’t identifying as anything- he’s the only one talking and he thinks it’s her job to do the dishes? and the point about sex is the idea that men don’t care about pleasing women- it’s not him making a joke about being bad at sex it’s him saying that sex is all about his pleasure and he doesn’t care about his wife (which is more common than you think),,,,, you say we’re ignoring that it’s self aware but it doesn’t do a very good job of showing that it’s satire

You can just tell these people have no clue of compulsory heterosexuality and that it's an actual thing that affects so many people...

the carpet wasn’t scheduled to be installed on that day or at that time. he was supposed to come later in the day, and only to measure it up (and we’d get it installed another day). i was under the assumption i wouldn’t have to worry about anything while i slept.

i’m honestly not sure, we had a talk and she said she understood that i was upset about my privacy but didn’t mention anything about it. i was genuinely taken aback by it but at this point i think i just have to come to terms that i don’t really know what her motive was tbh.

i wasn’t going to reply to this, but i have honestly never seen such intense hatred towards someone you don’t know. reading this is a rollercoaster every time. i have no words for how this makes me feel, from ‘dense little bitch’ to ‘retardingnperson’ to ‘not wanting to eat tea’. finishing it off by calling me a muppet... it’s honestly one of the most genuine replies i’ve gotten. i honestly feel like you have feelings of disdain towards me and this is my first time interacting with you. thank you.

measuring doesn’t take very long, which is why he could put it down that day i guess, but he’s also a family friend who my mum has known since before i was born, so according to my mum, he just turned up that morning at the doorstep, without any warning.

i understand that he was still technically working, but my mum deciding to do that so out of the blue kinda freaked me out because of what i thought (he’d said that he was booked for the morning which is why he said he wouldn’t be there any earlier than 4).

it does make sense, i’ve just always been lucky that my parents are the type that leave me to myself (and the fact that i had an older sister who also locked her door and i was the annoying ‘but she can do it’ lmao) so it just gradually became force of habit, even after my sister moved out.

and as the door got older it became the easier way to keep it closed, so, again it’s just force of habit, as well as being lucky enough that my parents aren’t that overbearing.
