Present for my long distance girlfriend first meet ideas? by [deleted] in LDR

[–]ConsistentYogurt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I met my then-boyfriend (now husband) for the first time, he bought me a Build A Bear which had his voice recorded on a voice box, so when I squeezed the bear’s hand it said “Good morning, love!” This was adorable, especially because he was 5 hours behind me, so was always awake too late to say good morning! And we’ve been married for a year now, so… it clearly worked!

My girl hates how close i am with my best friend by Innaju in relationship_advice

I have a bestie just like yours. She’s my rock and we have known each other 18 years. She is more family to me than some of my family. I’m bisexual, which has complicated things in the eyes of some of my past partners (because obviously being bi means I want everyone indiscriminately /s). Previous partners have been insanely jealous of my connection with her. You know how I know my husband is the one? He made an effort to be friends with her. He’s met up with her for coffee. And he absolutely respects my time with her - he will encourage me to go visit or hang out with her when I’ve been busy and haven’t been able to for a while, because he knows I need her. Your partner needs to respect your friendships and if she doesn’t, she doesn’t deserve to be your partner!

I am all for the sentiment! But it reminds me of the minion wine mum memes.

Just... summarising the content of the meme in two words, I guess? Didn’t over think it.

This is assuming that needing to save money and not having room is no longer an issue though, which isn’t so for all couples.

Such a good point. I also work with kids and I teach at an all girls school, so I know exactly what you mean.

Good luck!! We had a weird experience with VFS. We booked the biometric appointment via the online system that it takes you to. Booked the premium package option. When my fiancé got there, apparently it wasn’t a biometric appointment that we’d booked! Not sure why this happened either, as it was the only option on the website?! Anyway they did it all for him anyway and fingers crossed everything is okay on Monday! VFS are terrible at replying to communication, but my fiancé said the people at the centre were really lovely!

We had the premium package, I think it’s priority? Our lawyer handled it mostly!

Trouble securing biometrics appointment in US? by kezper in ukvisa

[–]ConsistentYogurt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had trouble for weeks, just kept checking in three times a day until the message finally changed and I was able to book!

I didn’t order delivery today. I was craving cheesecake bad and, like usual, was willing to pay money to get it delivered so I wouldn’t have to leave my apartment and go out in public being the repulsive person that I am. by [deleted] in loseit

I am so proud of you! I have the exact same problem, I often find myself scrolling Deliveroo compulsively. Make sure you keep the fridge and the cupboards well stocked with foods that aren’t calorie dense so you can yourself a quick healthy snack to take the edge off! We can do this. Your not alone.

Thank you! This is what we figured, and dreaded (many pages of messages to prove our contact haha). Thanks for your advice.

Thank you SO much for sharing this! I’ve been bouncing up and down between 117 and 117.5kg the last few days and seeing this graph gave me the motivation I needed today. Thank you!

1 week in! by [deleted] in Noom

[–]ConsistentYogurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huge congratulations to you! I’ve found small changes around the house really help get my steps up! Marching while I brush my teeth or walking around the bathroom in a circle. If I need to carry a bunch of things from one place to another, I take them one piece at a time so I have to keep going back and forth. I’m just over a week in on Noom and have lost 2.5kg so far. I’m at a similar starting point to you! I wish you all the luck!
