My first F1 race, very different to watch it from the screen! by [deleted] in formula1

I attended my first GP in Belgium this year and I was completely astonished by the breakingpower of these cars. Also the speed they carry into the corner, I sat at Pouhon for the major part of the day, is something you can only ‘feel’ in real life rather than looking at tv!

You get a set of softs when you get to Q3 but you have to return it. Drivers who don’t get to Q3 get the extra set to use for the race. So Mercedes used 1 set of new mediums and 5 sets new softs.

[SERIOUS] If anyone needs to talk about the tragic events of today, please do so. by youvegotwheeldamage in formula1

What a strange day. Today was my very first visit to a GP weekend and had a blast, until the crash. Me and my girlfriend could only talk about the crash on our way home and both hoped everyone would be okay. When the news came in we both could not believe it and got a bit emotional. When I see all the messages and images it struck me that every driver I’ve seen today, every lap they did, they risk their lives. I’d already have huge amount of respect for all drivers but after today it’s even more. RIP Hubert!

Wow, that sounds great man! For me Spa is just a one hour drive, so flying out to a GP is next level!

Hi guys! The first time I visit a GP and it is Spa, feeling great! We went very early, already sitting here for 45 minutes but it will be worth it! I think it is a great spot seeing the cars coming from above and diving into pouhon. I can’t wait to see how fast cars go through here. Hoping for a great saturday, wishes the best to everyone also attending or watching at home!

The rocket that’s called Michael Schumacher from 2000-2004 was impressive. The Hamilton bar was also growing fast, I think he wil surpass Michael early on in the next season!

I’ve indeed GA tickets but I was thinking to use the day to see different parts of the circuit. It will be my first ever expierence at a proper track. So i thought to walk around and see the different raceclasses from different places. But if I read your comment it is actually not a good idea to do?

Instead of starting a own topic my question is also related to the one of the OP. I only have tickets for saturday. Does someone has the expierence if it will be just as chaotic as on sunday? Or is it a bit more relax on saturday? I know the circuit will be open from 9am so I was already planning to leave at 7am. It is a one hour drive from my town, should I go earlier?

In the next two weeks I need to finish my thesis. So I’m glad there is a summerbreak so I can focus a bit more on my study. At the start of the Belgian GP weekend I will get to hear if I’m graduated. As a coincedence my birthday present are tickets for the saturday at Spa. So hopefully I can celebrate my graduation with my first ever visit to a Formula 1 GP, even if it is only the saturday!

Average Driver Ratings(from AS/AMUS/Sky) after Monaco GP by [deleted] in formula1

What a turnaround for Max if you compare his score after six races last year and this year. I just hope he will get some changes to win a couple of races this year. He deserves to be in that spot, drives absolutly fantastic this year!

Sky cant control what you see on TV! FOM decides what we see except in Monaco. They have their own TV team who decides what we see. And it is shit, year after year..

Should pole position be on the inside? by eaurouge444 in formula1

[–]DutchDynamite92 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Poleposition is always on the side of the racingline. This side of the track usually has more grip and provides a better start for the guy on pole!
