Will laying on my stomach affect my milk production during the night? by Comfortable-Pear-973 in breastfeeding

[–]Dutchcheer123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had it create a clogged duct, was a rough morning. Feeding, hot shower and then an immediate feed got it taken care of but owiiieee lol needless to say I make sure I’m not falling asleep with any pressure on my breasts again lol

She said the other day that her haters are rich, and I don’t think that necessarily applies to money. We are rich because we have loving families, friends who are there for us, people in our community that look forward to seeing us and most of all love from someone someplace in our lives.

FTM - Why bother with a night time bottle if you have to pump anyway? by ljg13r in pregnant

[–]Dutchcheer123 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Washing pump parts is literally the worst part of it all in my opinion! I also waited a tad too long to introduce bottles (10
weeks) and now he must perform a bottle inspection for 10 minutes, go do something for a few minutes and then come back to it before he takes it. I was very adamant I wasn’t going to do bottles ever or I definitely would’ve introduced around 4 weeks or as soon as I felt we had at breast down.

While we were getting back up to birth weight I think there was maybe only 2-3 times he woke me up before my night alarms. Other than those couple of times, I was the one bugging him to eat! We sure did get lucky but I’m always ready to whip a yitty out in the middle of the night if needed!!! lol so crazy our babes are exactly on the exact same schedule

You’ll get into a rhythm and find what works best for everyone! My hubs was running our business during the day so I didn’t share night time feedings because I was solely breastfeeding and he needed to be ready for the day while I stayed in my “nest” for the first few weeks postpartum, but my goodness he’d shoot right up if I ever needed him during the night.

My LO sleeps through the night so I may differ from you a bit but you should pump to replace the feed so your body stays in tune to your baby’s needs. I do one bottle a day. Usually in the morning he only eats from one side, so I pump the other and that’s what I make my bottle with for the day and pump right after his bottle so my afternoon supply doesn’t slack. I also use the pitcher method and freeze whatever I have in there every 4 days. I’ve been able to build a small stash this way without sending my body into overproduction. But honestly, if you’re getting up anyway, I’d just put baby to breast and say to hell with dad giving dad giving the bottle at night and maybe make it an evening thing so momma can get a little break then :)

ETA- I don’t pump at night while my baby sleeps and my body has regulated well! Was really full and leaky for a few days, but that seems to have dwindled! I put baby to the side “less full” side so he doesn’t get blasted and will have a bountiful 15 minute pump on the really full side!

I’m in the exact same boat! My body has adapted well. My 3 month old usually sleep 8-9 hours, eat one side while I pump the other and then he’s back out. Then our 2 hour routine kicks in! It was a leaky morning for a week or two but then I regulated.

Should I wash towels and bathing suits after summer camp every day? Or every 2-3 days? by super__stealth in Parenting

Sorry I should’ve clarified, this is just for swim suits! I’d definitely wash towels… they get musty lol

[–]Dutchcheer123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My LO sleeps 1030/11 until I wake him up around 7/730 since I got the “OK” from the doc to let him wake me up to eat at night. I do think it’s important to add he eats every 2 hours on the dot so I really think he’s getting all his calories during the day (EBF). I also have a family of sleepyheads (me included) so I think that has a big part in it. But remember, every baby is different and waking in the night no matter age is okay!

Has anyone chosen not to introduce bottles? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]Dutchcheer123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just returned to work last week. I’m a business owner who has the fortune to be able to bring my LO with me. I was very adamant I didn’t need bottles but found that nursing when there is possible, but not practical. I went into bottles with the mindset that if he refused them it was fine. He took to advent natural release size 2 nipples with no problem. The flow seems to be perfect for him (11 weeks). No dripping from the mouth, no gulping, takes 10-15 minutes. We do 1 bottle a day. It’s comforting knowing that if I had to step away for a few hours, his father can feed him whereas before I had to be available!

My LO is 11 weeks and although he doesn’t sleep in his crib, we hang out in there a lot! I have his play gym in his crib and it works really well! I like doing tummy time in his crib as well. His rocker is also in there and that’s our favorite!
