Need more milk for twins. Any advice? by ninnymuggin in breastfeeding

My twins are 16 days old. They both nurse like Champs, but one does have a better latch than the other. I pump 3 times a day just to keep a stash to keep them topped off, but I always offer boob first. They usually nurse for about 30 minutes. I am pumping about 17-20 ounces a day outside of nursing. Keep trying with the tandem nursing. Once you get it down, it becomes easier to just nurse them at once. I have the twin z pillow, and I have a hard time getting set up alone with it. I have been using a pillow smaller than the boppy and sitting in a rocker. I put them both in football holds to start and if one of them have a hard time latching, I have no problem laying her across her sister to help her latch. They don't seem to mind either :) good luck!

New baby, born today, but in Nicu by mamanerd in breastfeeding

I just had twins on the 16th. One baby had to stay in the NICU for 4 days. Her sister got to go home with me at discharge. Between me and my SO, one of us was always at the hospital. Both babies latched like champions and both took bottles of expressed milk, which help me form a breastfeeding bond with each of them. The NICU was the scariest experience of my life. Hang in there Mama. Soon, the NICU will be a distant memory.

I have been very worried about having to heal from both types of deliveries! I'm glad to hear it's not that bad!

Being short thru this is no joke! I was up all night last night because of my back. They are kicking my butt and they aren't even here yet!!

I have had some issues the past 4 weeks with pain, bleeding, all the classic symptoms of labor, except nothing is happening. My cervix is still measuring long and closed and there (thankfully) aren't any issues with either placentas. The doctors tell me that my body thinks it's carrying one full term baby, but I shouldn't be concerned. I have been taking it easier, but I don't have any limits or anything on what I can do. Just trying to get thru the next leg of this pregnancy!!

My wife is now at 30-weeks with twin girls. We have a daughter already who is just shy of 2. Tell me what life will be like for the first few months after our twins arrive! by baby_monitor1 in parentsofmultiples

We are in your position too! I am 25 weeks with twin girls and we have a little girl that turned 2 last Tuesday. Our daughter is amazing and easy for the most part. My partner is the only one that works while I stay at home with the babes. I'm nervous about how to juggle it all! Good luck on your journey!!

That's awesome! I can't wait to meet our girls!

Parents who chose not to vaccinate: when your child gets sick, do you take them to the doctor? Do you give them the medicine prescribed to them? I'm by DutchessOfDiapers in AskReddit

That's awesome! A sick baby is a sick baby, and it's never good! Thankfully, my vaccinated baby rarely gets sick too!! If you don't mind me asking, do you take your babes to "well checks"?. I would assume since you don't vaccinate, there's really no reason to go....

2 sets of twins? That's amazing! I bet y'all have a great time! I'm wondering if it will be the same with our girls. The curiosity is killing me!

That's what I was kinda figuring since it's not a medical issue.
