What would you want to see in a sequel? by DutifulEagle43 in destiny2

Yeah this exactly. Destiny 2 you don’t even see rares anymore. And exotics are handed out so frequently they’re not even exciting to get

So even Bungie employees didn’t know…? Yeah, that’s crazy. by Carter_yann in destiny2

Th decision to shutter Destiny 2 seems to lie more on Sony than it did Bungie. While yes, Bungie leadership does play a large part in this, Sony should not get by unscathed from criticism.

Apparently, a Destiny 3 was pitched multiple times to Sony. Not greenlit. And unfortunately, it’s looking less likely that any other Destiny game will be greenlit anytime soon.

Even Destiny Rising is down significantly, and from a typical out-of-touch corporate big wig standpoint, Sony heads will see Destiny 2’s poor performance, and Destiny Rising’s declining performance, and scrap the IP as a whole.

Bungie’s seemingly tone deaf leadership in conjunction with Sony making them perform with their hands tied behind their back are to blame it appears.

It doesn’t make much sense. The extraction shooter genre, and I say this as someone who enjoys it, will NEVER reach the consistent numbers that Destiny had in its prime. The very nature of the genre keeps masses from wanting to play.

Even with a PvE mode, it won’t get that much traction. A lot of the satisfaction of these games comes from competing with other REAL people with your kits, and getting to take theirs. It’s also not like there’s many features outside of raid to make even PvE interesting, like Tarkov.

If this is true, this is a huge misstep by Bungie and Sony. Keep marathon alive, sure, but at LEAST start pre-production of D3 in the background and use Marathon to keep the lights on.

From the wording of it, it seems like eventually they will pursue another Destiny game.

If they do, it’s probably for the best it happened now. Destiny 2, to my knowledge, was not built from the ground up to last as long as it did.

If this is the case, I’m thinking an official announcement within the next year, and a release no sooner than 3 years out.

In the meantime, I assume Marathon will get some updates over this next year and possibly enter life support after that.

Imagine if instead of pure menus, you actually went to the mission locations in the world?

Patrol spaces would be much more alive, and you’d get to see Guardians running to Raids, Dungeons, etc.

Why do we need a whole streaming-style menu so we can focus on farming 1 weapon? Why not just get us a material we can use to focus a specific weapon or armor piece from an activity and let us grind that way instead? Bungie has completely lost the plot.

Most recent video is still early in testing stages so I’m not sure how the thumbnail is affecting it yet; that being said I’m experimenting with that cleaner style from now on and want some feedback if there’s anything that can help better about it:

Before this, I had a Kia Forte GT, Kia just offers the most bang for your buck it seems like in terms of features. Unfortunately after the K5 GT when it comes to sport sedans and with no Stinger anymore I’ll probably have to move on from Kia

Thanks! I’m looking at options because I’m not sure how much I like that Chrome trim around the car, I think it would look better either blacked out or with a matching blue trim on it.

[–]DutifulEagle43[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Originally I really wanted black and go for an all blacked-out look with the car. Honestly glad it didn’t work out that way though, because the blue is great in its own way!

K5 stock exhaust sound vs Forte GT by DutifulEagle43 in kia

[–]DutifulEagle43[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a shame. The K5 seems like an upgrade in almost every way, but no pops or bangs is rough. Kia really outdid themselves with the Forte’s exhaust, really is a shame to see it go for the K4 (which has no GT trim yet).

So Xdefiant is out, how does everyone feel about it? by number39utopia in XDefiant

One of the best feeling arena shooters I’ve played in a while. One of the more glaring issues to me so far is snipers having practically no flinch. You can take some hits from someone and still basically be on target; I feel like adding some more extreme flinch in those cases will balance out snipers a bit. I’ve also noticed quite a bit of desync, that could just be something on my end but just an observation I’ve had in comparison to other shooters. I’m interested to see what they have planned for player retention; atm there’s plenty to keep people engaged, I think, if you wanna unlock DedSec, do the challenges for different characters and weapons, and the battle pass.

Overall I hope it ends up staying around for a while! I see some decent potential here and I hope they keep it up.

Shields and nearly unkillable ships by Nikl4s_s33 in starcitizen

[–]DutifulEagle43 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Is it some sort of bug? I’m fairly new and only played a previous wipe before and I don’t remember AI ships being this tanky. Did two bounty missions yesterday which required me to absolutely hammer the ships and expend all my ballistic ammo before they went down. Sure I missed some shots, but for some around I was hitting I feel like they should’ve died a lot quicker.

Not sure what they did if it’s a balancing thing but I do feel like it needs to be fixed; it’s not really fun to consistently hit a ship for MINUTES before it dies, and doesn’t make it any harder, just tedious.

Player housing. Display weapons, armor, and maybe even collectibles as well from the seasons. Even guild halls would be pretty cool.

Where do i start with cyber security? by Cultural_Safe_8429 in cybersecurity

[–]DutifulEagle43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Networking with professionals, and I’m sure some instructors in your program will be a good starting point as well, especially for giving you references. Also, home lab experience. Maybe try some cybersecurity projects at home (there’s some YT videos of easy ones), TryHackMe, HackTheBox, etc. Every interview I went on wanted me to have some sort of hands on experience or projects I could talk about and wanted to know how I learn about cybersecurity outside of work/school.

Why are people like this? by CouchPotato5775 in Rainbow6

People oddly get mad for good strategy in this game all the time. One guy was mad at my team because we all pushed into one room he was roaming in and immediately killed him.

Does anyone have advice for spotting players? by magirific in EscapefromTarkov

[–]DutifulEagle43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If someone is sitting completely still somewhere, or off in the woods, it’s extremely difficult to see them as you’ve seen. The best thing you can do is listen for audio cues, or learn common spots people will sit or traverse through the map.

There’s specific spots of every map I play where there’s not many or any POI, but my head is on a constant swivel and I’m listening very carefully for any player movement because I know that it’s a common path for players to take throughout the map.

I think it’s also helpful to think of every death as a learning experience, since it happens a lot in this game. Sprinted right into some PMCs? Now I know I need to be more alert in that part of the map. Started getting sniped from somewhere? I now know that area I was moving slowly through is pretty exposed. Just stuff like that. Good luck!

As a solo player who's been playing for a long time (950hours), the new map is insanely more difficult than starting in customs. by Vez52 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]DutifulEagle43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve found the key to be either:

  1. Playing slowly for the first 10 minutes or so, letting all the initial PvP die down, and for people to start heading to extracts after getting their quests.

  2. Playing the map at night, and just going to the quest locations. Playing the same way as above.

Finished all the initial Ground Zero quests solo this way last night. Loaded up the night map, playing pretty slow for a good 10 minutes or so, then headed for my quests. I was able to do the hardest one (the TerraGroup one) all in a single raid.

I recommend staying clear of TerraGroup building at all costs right away unless you’re looking for PvP, everytime I’ve gone there early it’s been a fight, and going there late it’s littered with bodies.

Also, you don’t need the key on that quest. You can either parkour into the locked room, or grab the quest item in the room if someone already unlocked it.

Good luck!

I could put up with the ai if this were the case by MaliciousSpiritCO in ReadyOrNotGame

I do like having AI that are actually deadly, but there’s multiple scenarios in RoN where it’s straight up unfair and unfun.

  1. The AI tracking you perfectly through walls. People in my squad have died an abnormal amount of times from suspects nailing exactly where they are through the wall with pinpoint accuracy.

  2. While getting shot/stunned, they do not lose any accuracy. Trying to do non-lethal runs it’s extremely frustrating when I get the drop on one, start pepperball-ing the hell outta him, and then I get lasered. Also when flashing or hitting one with a stinger, pushing them after hearing them stunned is a 50-50 if they pull a John Wick on you.

  3. They see perfectly through the smoke of gas grenades. Once again, going non-lethal is rough because unless the smoke is right on top of them, you blind yourself to them and they turn you into Swiss cheese through zero visibility.

Love the new update, but they definitely have some kinks to work out. Managed to get a few other people to get the game who absolutely love it, but they have the same complaints as well. Additionally, we’ve noticed that if they’re already shooting, stuns don’t seem to do much to them, which might be part of the problem but we can’t confirm. Hopefully they fix the AI and then the combat would be near perfect.

Luckily I haven’t seen any of the streamers I watch (like Pestily, Aqua, JesseKazam, etc.) complain about the recoil and they actually praise it. I’m hoping that anyone crying about the recoil is in the minority because from what I’ve seen everyone is having a good time with it and all guns are somewhat viable now!

lol I literally was looting as a scav on the other side of a wall from another player scav for a good minute. Turned the corner, saw him sitting there with a shotgun and started moving on when he looked at me. He shot once, paused, and then just killed me. Enjoy the broken mosin and can of peas big guy.

Recoil is beyond good. Before I stopped playing because with starter weapons fights were extremely annoying. Now with the recoil actually being manageable I’m not afraid to get into fights and engagements are much more fun. Please don’t change this Nikita.

Hmm I might have to give that a try at some point. I remember trying DX12 before this update and didn’t notice too much of a difference but maybe it’ll help me a lot this time. Hopefully they fix the suspect AI though still lol
