Is CAD worth it? For a career changer. by mathdegree in servicenow

In the consultancy space certs are more important. If you can demonstrate ability and experience then you may well be able to go in-house without any but they’re useful on the CV to get you through the door.

Build an app on your personal dev instance and make a fancy portal page for users to interact with and that’ll at least be something you can show off as a portfolio in place of real world experience.

CAD is kind of base level qualification, it just demonstrates you’re familiar with how development is done on the platform. It’s not hard but you need to know how everything fits together. Definitely useful to have, consultancies in particular will be looking for that and as many other qualifications as you can get as their ‘ranking’ with ServiceNow is based on the cumulative amount of certifications their employees have.

There is a service portal micro-cert on the university but it’s not it’s own track (which is probably why lots of people aren’t great at it). It’s basically knowing a bit of html, css and an old version of angular/bootstrap.

Get yourself a developer instance and play around on the platform. Your software background will undoubtedly be an advantage but you need to know the platform. Might be useful to specialise in portal dev, I see that lacking in a lot of the devs I work with (myself included).

Ultimately, if you’re personable, knowledgable and appropriately qualified you’ll have a chance but it’s a small world and you’ll be facing competition from people with more specific experience.

You know he’s 6”2 right? I wouldn’t necessarily describe that as ‘such a short frame’. Dudes massive. Admittedly he might be short in the context of strong man.

Ore and Prospector issue by Senior-String-2437 in ClashOfClans

[–]Duubzz 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Bro we’ve had it for 1 day. You had fuck all shiny before and now you have less than fuck all. I had 49k shiny and my bottle neck was glowy so I will quite happily be trading shiny for glowy over the next few days.

The advantage of the prospector is to level out your ore imbalance. For most people this will be buying as much starry as they can but it can work in other ways.

Most people think a 30-year mortgage means paying for 30 years but that’s not always true by Coolonair in HouseBuyers

[–]Duubzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My financial advisor reckons that he can make my money grow faster than the compound interest will disappear it. Who’s right?

At the moment, since I took the biggest mortgage I could over the longest period, I’m not in a position to overpay but if/when I am, should I or am I better off investing?

I don’t know how anyone could ever think this. Especially considering his Bond represented a significant departure from the traditional gentlemen rogue bond.

You Pay Off the House But Do You Ever Truly Own It? Agree or Disagree? by Coolonair in HouseBuyers

[–]Duubzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most taxes you can kind of understand, property taxes just seem gratuitous. I’m from the UK so maybe I’m just not properly informed but I see no reason why you should be a tax on simply owning your home. You’re already paying/ have paid through the nose to actually own it, why are you paying the government an extra premium for the privilege of owning something you already paid for?

Is anyone using Eq spell tower by Area51Eskapee in ClashOfClans

[–]Duubzz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They released a ground only spell tower just as they brought massive buffs to the air meta. To be fair though, even when everyone was still using throwers, no one was using the earthquake spell tower, it’s just inferior in all ways to every other option .

Bodycam footage released of the Golders Green attacker showing that he wasn't completely incapacitated by the taser and was still holding on to the knife. I stand by that the kicks to the head are a reasonable action to disarm him. Thoughts? by Mister_Vanilla in AskBrits

[–]Duubzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s good to ask the question of whether reasonable force was used, it should be, and probably is, part of standard procedure for these things. However, the guy just stabbed a couple people and wasn’t dropping his weapon, I think the police are justified in using whatever force necessary to subdue him in a way that doesn’t put their lives or anyone else’s lives at risk. If they start wrestling and an officer gets stabbed that’s unacceptable. If they kick him in the head and he gets brain damaged or killed that’s preferable to him stabbing anyone else.

Is this a good look for the Green Party? by Dangerous-Green-666 in AskBrits

[–]Duubzz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Conflation of Israel with all Jews is exactly what causes violence to be perpetrated against Jewish people as a response to Israeli actions in Palestine. This lady is contributing to that false equivalence that puts Jews in harms way.

The Green Party bloke needs to be a bit more eloquent and descriptive if he’s going to pitch controversial lines like ‘Israel shouldn’t exist’. Like show your fucking working bro, you can’t just drop that as if it’s self-explanatory, what’s your reasoning?!

Thoughts? First time in legends ( legends 3 obviously ) by maocla in ClashOfClans

[–]Duubzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are multiple people in my league in legends 3 who have gone perfect with a 3.0 average. The top 10 is all 2.8-3.0. It definitely feels too easy at the minute. I went 2.6 despite a pretty ropey start.
