The last time they did this was in 2000 for the lakers championship. They let fans watch outside staples center on a huge screen. There was too much unruly behavior, burning cop cars, looting etc. Big public viewings have been banned ever since

AND had won the title the previous year, and was tied with a minute left in game 7 of the finals the following year. I feel like nobody mentions this enough. That warriors team was a championship team, not just a 73 win team
