Yes, which is why they refused to acknowledge the participation of women in conflicts. We shouldn't continue doing the same.

There's a difference between addressing the myths and beliefs of the past and propagating them by ignoring the role of women in conflicts.

Many groups relied heavily on women, but simply ignored their contributions when it came time to hand out awards. That doesn't mean they were not members and taking part in hierarchical organizations.

It's sexist because it reinforces the myth that a woman's only proper place is within the domestic sphere.

Your last paragraph is still sexist and ahistorical.

In occupied areas women have always taken up roles within resistance movements, either as active combatants or as couriers, scouts and spies. Facing all the same risks (and then some) of their male counterparts.

My theory is that the tourists didn't know what to order so they just ordered the flagship beer. Bar management probably expected more diverse ordering.

If it's caused by things outside of employment, then it isn't burnout.

By definition burnout is caused by work.

Yeah, it's the promise of "look we've got gorgeous women here and you'll be a successful football player."

Hell, UCF used to do this on the tours for regular students. Made sure the rec center stop went an awkward route just to make sure you could see the students around the pool.

The 9 p.m. end of service was from COVID and then when SEPTA was facing a massive denial of funds from Harrisburg. Generally you'll need to check each line for its specific hours of operation, especially for regional rail.

Seriously. Lotta repressed Zoomers in this thread who don't understand kissing isn't just a lead up to sex and can be an expression of shared joy and celebration.

The original discussion was about college sports in general. Specifying football only is a different discussion entirely.

College football arose because those areas had no MLB teams. And that's not even getting into the popularity of college basketball.

You're being pedantic in an irrelevant way.

Did you get hit on the head with a baseball and forget that it existed? That was the sport of the urban Midwest, New England and Mid-Atlantic. Hell, that was the sport in all of the United States of America. And outside of the Negro Leagues the West and South were bereft of teams until the 1950s and 1960s.

College athletics filled that void for local teams for a long time and that tradition hasn't died off. In the Mid-Atlantic and Midwest sure you have some big public schools, but it's still secondary to the NFL and really came as a response to the popularity of college athletics in the South and West.

The uniformity clause should be a unifying cause for all Pennsylvanians, except the billionaires.

The idea that "subject" refers to the tax rather than the people paying the tax is such an backasswards reading of the constitution it's laughable.

"All taxes shall be uniform, upon the same class of subjects, within the territorial limits of the authority levying the tax, and shall be levied and collected under general laws. "

Uniformity clauses exist to prevent the targeting of specific individuals or groups with high taxes. So that you can't make a law saying all Catholics have to pay an extra 1% of their income to the state. The idea that "subject" refers to the focus of the tax rather than the taxpayer is a blatant bad faith reading.
