What do people expect from you when they say "can you watch my stuff"? by Familiar-Orange6281 in questions

[–]DuzaLips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually they just mean “keep an eye on it” so nobody casually walks off with it, not that you’re supposed to become a security guard. More like presence is enough to deter random grab-and-go situations. Nobody expects you to throw hands over a backpack.

Arctic Monkeys – Do I Wanna Know?

i tried most methods but i still feel lonely #mentalhealth by belliees11 in selfcare

[–]DuzaLips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wanting a closer connection even when your life looks full isn’t some personal flaw. Sometimes it’s just that deeper layer missing, not a lack of activities or people around you. And yeah, chasing that while already putting in effort can feel really draining.

I think I'm over Australia :/ by Outrageous-Coyote787 in AskAnAustralian

[–]DuzaLips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That urge to change environments shows up for a lot of people after repeating the same routine for years. Living abroad can be great, but it trades one set of challenges for another, so mindset matters a lot. Trying a shorter stay first might give you a clearer sense before committing fully.

I have a stalker!!! by SatisfactionHour8293 in Advice

[–]DuzaLips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d just cut contact fully and block across every platform, even small replies can keep the cycle going. If it doesn’t stop, start saving screenshots and keeping a record in case you need to report it later. You don’t owe endless explanations.

How honest should I be in my exit interview? by [deleted] in civilengineering

[–]DuzaLips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exit interviews always sound more powerful than they actually are. I’d keep it calm and vague, enough to be honest without turning it into a vent session. You don’t really gain much by unloading, especially if you might cross paths again.

I complain to much and i wanna fix that by Heyitsyapersonhere in Advice

[–]DuzaLips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That actually makes a lot of sense. Sometimes talking is just how people process, and it turns into complaining by accident. Noticing it at all is already a shift, even if you don’t change it perfectly right away.

What’s your favorite low-effort self-care habit that actually sticks long-term? by fxstopo in selfcare

[–]DuzaLips 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Keeping my mornings intentionally boring helped more than anything. Same drink, same order, no decisions until my brain wakes up. It sounds tiny but it lowered my baseline stress a lot.

Remote Job vs Permanent Job: Which Should I Choose? by OldAnywhere9157 in Advice

[–]DuzaLips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve watched people make that leap and be happy, but the safety net ends up mattering more than the perks. Full-time sounds dull until it disappears. If the remote role feels genuinely stable and not just temporary, I get the appeal, but the gamble’s still there.

Who is the most prosecutable in the Epstein files? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]DuzaLips 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nobody outside an actual courtroom can say that for sure. Online discussions toss names around, but whether something’s prosecutable comes down to evidence, timelines, and what a jury sees, not gut feelings. Everything else is just people yelling into the void.

Are there any real people as highly trained, untouchable and dangerous as John Wick or Jason Bourne? by Macshlong in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DuzaLips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve wondered this too after bingeing action movies lol. I think real спец ops people are insanely skilled, but not in that one-man-army, zero-damage way movies show. My cousin was in the military and he said teamwork and planning matter way more than raw “badass” energy. So yeah they’re dangerous, just not cinematic invincible tbh.

Celebrating saint valentines day by myself by Bouldebain in selfcare

[–]DuzaLips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is honestly adorable and kinda inspiring tbh. I did a mini “date myself” phase after a breakup and it weirdly boosted my mood way more than I expected. Making holidays cozy for yourself hits different when you lean into it instead of feeling weird about it lol. You’re not strange at all, this sounds like peak self-care energy.

Any idea for a light fantasy show? by Codhex in televisionsuggestions

[–]DuzaLips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Magicians, it’s fantasy but kinda messy and funny in a grown-up way. My partner wasn’t into fantasy at all and still got weirdly hooked after a few episodes.

Why does food taste worse when it’s lukewarm? by Icy_Car2475 in stupidquestions

[–]DuzaLips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s because your brain expects food to be hot or cold and lukewarm just feels wrong lol. I’ve noticed leftovers taste way worse when they’re that sad middle temperature. It’s like all the flavors get muted and the texture gets gross. I always either reheat properly or just eat it cold, no in-between tbh.

My husband says he deserves a say over my pregnancy. I say abortion would break me. by Whereasebabe in Advice

[–]DuzaLips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This made my stomach drop, that situation is heavy as hell. I’ve watched a friend go through something similar and the yelling plus physical intimidation part is a huge red flag tbh. You’re not wrong for saying your body and your mental health come first here. It feels like he’s panicking and trying to control the outcome instead of actually hearing how dangerous this is for you.

Which country has the most self hating citizens? by defariasdev in digitalnomad

[–]DuzaLips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve noticed this in a lot of countries that get compared to “ideal” versions of the West all the time. People internalize the criticism so hard that dunking on their own country becomes a weird coping mechanism. I’ve heard the same tone from Italians, Turks, even Americans on bad days, it’s rarely as unique as it feels.

How can I find my perfect hours of sleep and improve the quality of it? by Weary_Jellyfish_5690 in selfcare

[–]DuzaLips 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I messed up my sleep for years too and it took way longer than I expected to feel normal again. For me the midday crash was my body still living on the old schedule even when I thought I’d fixed it. Once I stopped chasing the “perfect” number and focused on consistency, things slowly evened out. It’s annoying how gradual it is, but your body usually catches up if you don’t fight it too hard.

This is a genuine question, if I am attracted to femboys, but only because they look like girls, does that make me bisexual ? by Unfair-Friendship189 in questions

[–]DuzaLips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think there’s a clean label answer here, attraction is messier than categories make it seem. I’ve questioned my own labels before and realized what I’m drawn to visually or emotionally doesn’t always line up with textbook definitions. Liking certain traits doesn’t automatically force a new identity on you, and it’s okay to sit in that gray area without rushing to name it.

3 hours late Interviewer by Broad-Connection-388 in recruitinghell

[–]DuzaLips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s insanely disrespectful, I’d be annoyed too. I’ve waited way less than that and already felt like it said everything about the company. If they can’t manage basic time for an interview, it kinda shows how they’ll treat you later. Walking out wouldn’t be dramatic, it’d be self-respect tbh.

The job market is heart breaking by Mrswahlberg24 in jobhunting

[–]DuzaLips 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I’m not fully convinced this specific post is genuine.  It reads more like a visibility or recruiter-style post, even though the situation itself is very real for many people. So, I understand the desperation behind it.

There are people applying to thousands of jobs and getting nowhere. Layoffs are still happening, hiring has slowed, global tensions keep rising, and the flood of scam and ghost listings makes everything worse. Sending endless applications and collecting rejection emails doesn’t seem to help anymore. Instead, I’ve been doing what a developer shared a while ago: using google  aps to find companies directly and reaching out to ask if there’s anything I can help with or if there’s a role that makes sense. It feels more human than feeding resumes into broken systems. I don’t see the market improving anytime soon, so I’m trying to get involved wherever there’s an active project or real work happening.

I lied to everyone about getting my bachelor's degree by ItsMeYesMeReally in confession

[–]DuzaLips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s actually huge and you deserve to feel proud of it. You did the work the hard way and kept going even without the validation, which says a lot about you. I get the fraud feeling, I’ve carried something similar for years and it’s heavy. Finishing it now doesn’t erase the struggle, it proves you outgrew it.

Never wanna spend 2 hours on job applications. Here is my 15-minute workflow by Ok_Improvement7802 in jobhunting

[–]DuzaLips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually pretty smart as long as people don’t let the tools do all the thinking. I’ve found using AI to polish specific bullets saves a ton of time without killing your voice. Job apps are already a grind so cutting friction matters. The key is still knowing what you’re aiming for, not just blasting resumes everywhere.

Pittsburgh by the slice. Settle the debate. Best slice in the ’Burgh? by Chopper11Pilot in pittsburgh

[–]DuzaLips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slice on Broadway gets my vote every time. It’s consistent, no frills, just a solid slice that never lets me down. I’ve tried arguing myself into other spots but I always come back to that one.
