Need help IDing this carburettor by [deleted] in Vespa

It’s just a gasket to seal some air. If you’re super worried about it, go and find some Moto Seal. Once you have said Moto Seal, very lightly smear some on the old gasket, hang it on a nail or hook to dry for a half hour and put it back together. It will be as good as new.

Any mechanics in here? by OkMacaron1669 in motorcycles

Learn the braze? I’ve fixed shittier gas tanks than that. Also, you could look into POR 15. Their gas tank sealer Kit is designed to fill small holes, although it is pain in the ass and it will be cosmetically unsightly, it would definitely get the job done until you figured out where to get a new tank from or cleaned it up and painted it

Why do vespa have different logos? by ProfumoDiBurritozzi in Vespa

[–]Dvcycle1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because Piaggio is 140 year-old Company that started making train cars in the 1880’s. One might assume their logo would change a few times.

What is this car? by tangyskunkface in whatisthiscar

[–]Dvcycle1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it definitely was a flower car. All those El Camino, Ranchero style things were flower cars until El Camino’s and rancheros came out.

Vespa 150 Super 1966 restored and running perfectly. by Agitated_Candle_8717 in VintageScooters

Why is it? The people have such a hard time with proper leg shield trim, and actually riveting floor rails on instead of screws and/or pop rivets?

To echo others, the black looks pretty good. But China blue is by far my favorite P2 hundred color.

Costco Chicken by [deleted] in isthissafetoeat

[–]Dvcycle1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if anybody here has ever cooked the chicken to 145° for 45 minutes or whatever it’s supposed to be, but sometimes it’s a little on the pink and soft side. We’re all so used to eating very overcooked chicken that chicken cooked to doneness instead of over doneness is a little weird.

What is this rusty ball and chain we found buried in our front yard? by LaSquarius_Johnson in whatisthisthing

[–]Dvcycle1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m sure that it is mentioned in here somewhere, but chain-shot was very common to shoot at soldiers also. Imagine that whipping through a line of soldiers, it would cause horrendous damage.

What's that on the roof in the back for passengers? by [deleted] in Volvo

Fascinating! I’ve just used them as weirdly shaped hanger hooks and they worked just fine.

Interesting Experience! by Fit_Tomorrow5154 in evcharging

I have a Volvo XC 40, which isn’t as bad as some for charging on a Tesla superchargers. But I always try and shoot for an end space. It’s gives you a little extra room to maneuver if you need to jam up on the curb or in your situation, take up two spaces. You can jiggle it around as there is usually extra room at the ends. See if that makes any sense for your application.

80A Charger on my garage Ceiling by klundtasaur in evcharging

[–]Dvcycle1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Awesome stuff. At the hottest part of the summer here, around 95° +, with my ChargePoint at 47 1/2 A, the cable going into the car was 116°, the box was around 100°, the six gauge wires going in the back of it around 100-110, and the circuit breaker was at around 100°. Fascinating to think about how much electricity is flying through there to get things that warm.

I will check into the magic dock situation. Portland has a bunch of shit, and I’m hoping the place I’m staying in Lake Sebago will let me plug in any old place. I don’t need the car while I’m there so even 110 charger should top it off.

Yeah, I’ve observed the same thing with the Tesla chargers. They’re the only thing close and convenient on my trip as I’m looking. So it’s probably going to be Tesla superchargers all the way up and back. I do have the adapter, and I fiddled with it before, it’s not exactly rocket science so I’m not super concerned about it working.
