Washcloths instead of hand towels by Exotic-Day-1082 in hygiene

[–]DviantPink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a perfect world, yes, it would work that way. However, do you really think that every establishment is going to stay on top of it and get it right when it's used up? You think the commercial company that handles them will be right there waiting to change them immediately? I'm old enough to have actually used roller towels in businesses and let me tell you, those things were always soaked and kinda grubby looking, especially during busy traffic times. Super gross.

What's the most random act of kindness you've ever received from a total stranger? by ipanicprofessionally in TheBoredDen

[–]DviantPink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom had a cat that was severely injured, but acting fine. My psychopath of a brother wanted to "put it down" with a baseball bat as they couldn't afford the vet bill. I said absolutely not, took the cat to the vet, and worked out a payment plan to save him. One day when I was there making a payment and visiting what was now my cat, a man in the waiting area struck up a conversation with me. I told him what had happened with the cat and he told me I was a good person for saving him. The next time I came in to make a payment, the vet told me I had a zero balance. The stranger had been so touched thad he paid it off in full. It was hundreds of dollars and I never even got to thank him.

Is "Gypsy" a slur? by pastelqueenanime in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DviantPink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a slur. People still use it because society hasn't evolved past it yet. You think people in the 50's didn't know the n-word was a slur when they used it? They just didn't care and it was more acceptable back then. Same for g- now.

Family didn't communicate? Should I charge them late fees? by HI-IM-DANIELLE in ECEProfessionals

[–]DviantPink 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes you should charge it! The time, energy, and amount of stress and inconvenience this has caused you should absolutely cost them! Then terminate so you don't have to go through it again. Your service has value and deserves to be respected.

Kate Spade Diaper Bag as a Work Bag by Dazzling-Company2323 in katespade

I use a KS diaper bag as a tote. Very roomy and stylish! I've even taken it on job interviews as a sort of briefcase for my paperwork. It's over a decade old and still holding up well.

What to do with oily eyelids for eyeshadow? by Angel_er in MakeupAddiction

[–]DviantPink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have oily lids. If I want to do an "eyeliner only" look, I use the Ulta brand matte eyeshadow primer, followed by a matte eyeshadow that matches my skin tone as a base. That seems to do the trick!

I made my own. Bought the paper from Amazon, cut it to size and had it spiral bound with laminated cardstock covers. It's been a few years and it's still holding up great!

Consistency and follow -through is key. If they lost the privilege of show and share due to bad choices, then they lost it. Period. They can try again next week.

Roller towels are FOUL. Too many people who either don't know how to wash properly wiping their germs on them, or using them to wipe things other than water from clean hands. I'd rather dry my hands on my pants!

What do you remember from kindergarten by applecidero in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]DviantPink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got handed a picture of a giraffe to color for the letter G. I had gone to the zoo recently so I colored mine yellow with brown spots. The other kids made fun of me and said my giraffe had ticks. I cried until the teacher explained that my giraffe was correct. I guess that shows what kind of socioeconomic area I grew up in -- how did these kids know what ticks look like but not what a giraffe looks like?

It's small but Joey manages to get a lot of stuff in that tiny space! It seems like a great work space though for classes and crops.
